Getting from MCO to ship

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to get from MCO to the ship. We are coming in on the Friday before the cruise and don't know whether to stay in Orlando or by the ship. Recommendations??

If you are coming in late, then I would stay close to MCO. Look at daves website for some good ideas on where to stay: www.dcltribute.com

We did it the easy way and bought the Disney transfers. On our last DCL cruise stayed at the MCO Hyatt Friday night, but it's been a while, and I can't remember what we did with the luggage. I don't remember taking it onto the ship ourselves, though. We had time for a leisurely Saturday breakfast and the kids had a swim in the hotel pool before going down to the terminal, where the Disney CM's are plentiful and noticeable.

Highly recommend it!

The most convenient is to book a night at the Hyatt Orlando and take the DCL transfers. After picking up your luggage from baggage claim, you simply go up one level and there are the elevators for the Hyatt. Identify yourself as a cruise passengar and they will hand you a nice packet of information. It basically explains that you should tag your luggage with the DCL tags that were sent with your cruise documents and leave your luggage in the hallway before going to bed. They'll be picked up and transported to the ship for you and you won't need to handle them again until they're sitting outside your stateroom door. In the morning, bring your day bag down to the hotel lobby where you'll meet the DCL staff who will situate you on the bus.

There are many options though and it really depends on how late you're flying in and what you want to do with your time. You can do a one-way rental through Budget, drive down to the Port, stay at a hotel in that area and enjoy the beach. Others stay in the Orlando area and get their Disney fix by going over to Downtown Disney.
