I’ve read many recommendations on this board for Lansky but it’s pricey. We did Supershuttle one year and had a very bad experience. Had anyone done Uber or Lyft from LAX? Or any other recommendations?

None of the shuttles are great because they all stop multiple places. If you won’t be renting a car I’d say Uber or Lyft as they’re usually cheaper than regular cabs.

I just used uber last week to go from LAX to the airbnb that was super close to Disney. It was about $50 one way. Totally worth it.

Yeah, had a couple of bad experiences with shuttles, and like you, I think Lansky's sounds great but is pricey. The Disneyland Express seems to have gone downhill lately, too, service wise. We've had great luck with Uber from SNA, so we're just going to go ahead and do Uber from LAX this time.

Yup...Uber is my go to and first choice. Personally despise SuperShuttle. Uber averages around $55 LAX to DL and easy peasy.

...but also price to rental cars for your trip. While prices fluctuate, I have gotten rental cars cheaper than round trip UberX even taking into account hotel parking.

We used Lyft last Saturday evening and it was great. Easy to find driver and awesome to have someone else do the driving. Cost was $51 to Tropicana Inn.

Has anyone used Lyft recently from John Wayne airport? If so, what’s the cost on that one?

I’ve used SuperShuttle on most of my trips and it just keeps getting worse.

We have always done Uber. I like the flexibility. DD is old/big enough for a Bubble Bum seat, which makes it possible.

May I ask what the problems have been with Supershuttle, specifically? I just booked them from LAX for our May trip (one way). It was quite easy to book online and the directions to find them at the airport seem straightforward. What have your issues been?

It’s more been issues with the return trip to the airport from our hotel. Last time I used them, they were close to an hour late. No explanation.

Another thing that bothers me is a note in their app saying rather prominently that if you don’t include a tip in the pre-purchase, the driver will be notified. I have no problem tipping good service after receiving it, but it feels a little like a threat that if you don’t tip up front, you may not receive adequate service.

Ultimately, if it’s the same price or less to use Lyft or Uber, then I think I’ll get better service and not have to ride share either while getting direct transport to and from our hotel.

I've used them several of times, and the big issue for me was that you have no control over what order you are dropped off, with your fellow passengers, and it can be a serious drag on your time. The last time I took them from SNA, it took about 2 hours, because the van was full, some people weren't even going to the DLR area so we were toodling all over Fullerton, etc. and I was dropped off LAST. Also when they picked me up from the hotel on that trip, the 15 minute window was for like 3:15-3:30. I got back to the hotel to get my stuff out of the locker at 2:55, and the van was already there and the guy was mad and impatient that I wasn't there and ready 20 minutes early.

Also sometimes you don't take off from the airport promptly because they're trying to fill up the van. So you sit there or cruise around to different pickup areas before even leaving.

Uber, on the other hand, I booked ahead, and they were there and ready when we stepped out of baggage claim. The guy was super nice and friendly, and he cheerfully stopped at CVS for 5 minutes so DH could run in and get a rack of water. It was fast and door to door, and we didn't have to share with a bunch of strangers. The first trip we used the "first timer" discount codes that are always available, and the trip was free. From SNA, it usually costs around $22-25 before tip. Well worth it!

We're doing Uber from LAX this time.

Lyft has a price calculator on their site. Check it out.

We used Karmel. The reviews are mixed but we had no issues at all. If you are travelling with carseats (they don't supply them) it a bit of a PITA. We are lucky that our daughter was big enough to use a booster but otherwise I was not able to get a direct answer about whether their shuttles had bucket seats, latch system, etc.
It's only a nine passenger van so there won't be too many stops. On the way there there was three stops total and on the way back none.

I suggest that you DO NOT consider Disneyland Express. They are not reliable, and they have nothing to offer but lame excuses when they show up late or not at all.

What do you mean by this? We have Uber here in Buffalo, but its only available on demand.

From the Uber website:
https://www.uber.com/ride/how-uber-works/scheduled-rides/

ETA: Oh, wait, I must have been thinking of the return trip only. It says on the FAQ on that page that you can't book a ride FROM the airport because of delays, baggage issues etc. that could potentially mess up the pickup time. But usually there's so many Uber drivers hanging out at the airports that it's not a problem to get a pickup.
