Should we take a bus to the All Star Resorts, then bus to Blizzard Beach? Or try to arrange for taxi/car service? Other ideas? Thanks!

Plan is 8am breakfast at Hollywood and Vine, get some fastpasses to use later, then go to a waterpark 10am-2pm+, back to HS later in the evening.

There's a bus directly from DHS to BB. It's the bus to AKL, which stops at BB on the way. I'm not sure what time it starts running in the morning, but it's definitely running after 11 a.m.

If you're there earlier, look for a cm in a bus driver costume wandering around the load zones with a clipboard, and ask him/her.

What is your priority: Time or money? If getting there quickly and without any hassle extra stops or waiting then head to the taxi queue and hop in a waiting taxi which will take you to BB with no waiting. There is a taxi line at all the parks. Ask any cast member for directions. There will be plenty of people arriving via taxi at DHS so they will be thrilled to pick up a fare from the park in the morning.

If saving money is your priority then take Disney transport which could take longer and involve a wait.

As I said, the bus from DHS to AKL stops at BB on the way; there are no intervening stops.

There usually are no taxis waiting at the stand at DHS in the morning, so one will have to be called, which might take just as long as the waiting for the bus.

If saving a random amount of time between 0 and 15 minutes is worth $10, sure, take a cab.

WDW can always change up the stops and locations on any given route. If the OP is looking for the quickest and easiest route from DHS to BB/TL the quickest way is almost always going to be a private taxi. The previous poster assumes that no taxi will be waiting, but i beg to differ. DHS is a major tourist destination and 1000s of visitors will be dropped off in the morning so PLENTY of taxis will be available for transport for those wishing to leave. Sure sometimes you may get lucky and get on bus just about to head there to a water park, but in the morning when there is a plethora of taxis the most simple/quick solution is a $12 taxi. Others may disagree, but frankly I would rather spend time in line for a super water coaster than save money waiting on free disney transport which never has a guaranteed time of departure.

Thank you both for your help. Gotta love disboards, almost any question can be answered. Plan is to have breakfast at HS 8-9, ride ToyStory or FP (for later in evening), then get to Blizzard Beach by or close to opening 10am.

I'd like to try the bus.... but will keep an eye out for taxis too. Last trip, one taxi gave us his cell in case we needed a planned pickup. Might look for someone like that again. Used taxi a lot when going resort to resort.

Yeah, sorry, I was in a mood last night.

I just get tired of people dissing (not DIS-ing ;)) the buses. And in this case, the bus is a perfectly reasonable solution -- it is direct, non-stop, and a short ride.

And I can tell you that I've driven by the DHS taxi stand many times in the morning when there was not a taxi in sight. Whether one would be able to catch a taxi dropping someone off, I honestly can't say.

See the difference is you value your money more than you value your time. I don't like hiking to the bus stops and peering over my shoulder hoping that the next bus is the bus I want. I also have to hope there isn't someone waiting who requires wheelchair assistance. Sure if the stars align you "could" get there in the same time as a taxi, but it could also be a significant wait if you just missed the bus, then your bus arrives 15 minutes later and then once the bus pulls up and allows two stroller laden families and two wheelchair assists it could easily add 30 minutes to your trip. While you are still transiting I am down $12 but I am also already in the park putting on sunscreen and headed for the slides.

Everything is a matter of choice. I choose to value my time. :thumbsup2

I trade my time for money 6 days a week ... and yet I'll pay $1 to save 5-10 minutes on a toll road.

Makes no sense, does it?:confused3
seeing as you spend so much of your time working for money through the year, why not part with a few dollars so you can gain back some of the precious few vacation hours in a year. :confused3

You are all funny. Thanks again for the advice. Last trip we stayed at AS Movies but still spent time at deluxe resorts usually for late dinner. It was great taking a taxi back and well worth it. The parks seem to be more difficult, we have always taken the buses...

But I have thought.... if I took the amount of time I spent on reading and posting on DisBoards the past year.... and spent it working part-time instead... it could have helped pay for the next Disney Trip!

Seriously, the DisBoards have saved me lots of money and time. Thanks again....

Hollywood Studios (or any theme park) to Typhoon Lagoon is always a two step process on Disney transport (requires a connection at a resort).

Yes, going by automobile (yours, rented, hired) is usually the fastest.
