So do they run any bus that would make it possible to get from the Boardwalk to Fort Wilderness at 1:30am? We want to visit the Atlantic Dance Club, ESPN Zone, and Jelly Rolls, but it'll be late when we're ready to go. I heard a rumor about a special bus they use to get guests back to their resorts. Does that still exist?

There are no "special" buses. You either have to drive your own car or take a taxi.

It has been posted that there is a bus available at closing time (2:00am). If you leave a little earlier, you could also bus to Downtown Disney and transfer there, I believe the Pleasure Island stop stays open until 2:00am (for the West Side late closings).

I found the post, this is from a Disney bus driver, see #10:

It is my understanding, as well, that there is a late bus from BW. I haven't actually seen it, but I'll be looking for it in a few weeks. But that won't help out the OP much will it?! I'll be at JRs pretty late and need to get back to POP....hope to find a bus, but will grab a cab if there isn't.

I'd plan for a cab. I wouldn't want to be on the bus at 1:30 -2:30 am that is going to all of the other resorts. With my luck, my stop would be last and by the time I got "home" and into bed, it would be time for the thundering of little feet on the way to EMH. :teeth:

I have used these a couple times to get back to Pop Century and ASMu. A few months ago, I left JRs around 12:30am and headed to the bus stop. There were 3 DTD busses idling there. One of the drivers asked where I was headed, I told him Pop and he asked the first bus in line to take me there. I was the only and it was great!! Another time I left JRs around 11:30pm and although there was no bus waiting, I waited only about 5 min. and when the DTD bus arrived, he took me back to ASMu.

If you don't want to wait, then I'd just take a taxi. :confused3

As has been mentioned, sometimes the late night bus drivers at the Boardwalk will take late-night partiers directly to their resorts. At the very least there will be a bus to DTD to connect with the final resort buses for the night. And there are always taxis outside the Boardwalk if you just can't stand another bus ride. At that hour with no competing traffic a taxi can take you anywhere on property pretty quickly.

There are a couple of buses assigned to BW for this every night. I would be out to the bus stop no later than 1:30am as if both buses have left with other guests, they may not be back before DTD closes up at 2am. The buses will run until 2am unless they are out bringing guests to their resorts. If the driver cannot get back until after 2am, then he won't go back. Once PI is closed, there are no more buses unless Magic is open for EMH later than 2am (like last night)

Remember, the latest that guests are picked up to go to PI is 1:15am

Last summer I stayed at the Boardwalk and my sister and family at Fort Wilderness. She found the best way was a taxi.

Other than a taxi, go to DTD and take the FT bus from there.
