Getting from AKL to AK...or vice versa

We will be in Orlando in August (off site)and are considering spending a day at AK. We will not have a car, so will likely have a car service bring us to and from the park. We are also considering a trip to WDW in '07 and would love to stay AKL. I figure we can combine our August day at AK with a "tour" of AKL and maybe dinner at Jiko.

It will be easy enough to ask our driver to pick us up at AKL, but as non resort guests, how will we get from AK to AKL? Is it much of a walk?

PS Will our "just spent a day at the park look/smell" be okay for Jiko?

You can't walk from the AK to the AKL. But you can just get on the bus to the hotel. Anyone can use the transportation, you do not have to be staying at the hotel.
When the driver comes to pick you up he will need to stop and say he is picking you up, but I am sure most drivers know exactly what to do in order to get around.

Jiko is an upscale restaurant and does have a "business casual" dress code. That being said, you will see people in park clothes there.

An alternative would be to bring a change of clothes to AK, stash them in a locker and then change when you get to the AKL. We have done this before and it is not too much of a hassle.

Thank you for the info and insight. I would have thought that using the resort transportation as non-resort guests would be a no-no. was hoping to travel light for our AK day--but stashing clothes in a locker would work. Can non-resort guests make a reservation for Jiko? Is there a difference between a PS and an ADR?
