getting fit for your trip - a place to share & ramble

i can't even remember the last time i shopped at just jeans.

good for you for your progress so far. that's really awesome to see :)

Nothing too crazy, they're an XL but they fit, and aren't tight as tight :thumbsup2

Sitting on the couch here now having sakata's and dip.

I have been reading labels on things when i'm buying, and something I noticed which i've never noticed before.
I felt like some yoghurt the other day, 98% fat free, 170gm, sounds good right? Except 30gm of sugars, that's not so good...

Low fat doesn't mean low sugar...it's nuts some of the carb/sugar content.

Yoghurt is one of the biggest offenders.

And breakfast cereal.....:scared1:

God I miss milk........

So DH is now on the hard core diet..after losing the 4kg.....and dragging me along for the ride:rolleyes1

I'm beginning to be really conscious of what I put into my mouth...unless it's chorizo  then I don't care how much fat is in it, tastes so good!

Trying like anything to cut the sugars, it makes a difference eating fruit, filling up on strawberries, 4 punnets last week, but i'm thinking of the good properties it has in it (trying not to think about what it costs me), and my new/old favourite is passionfruit, heaven from a vine :goodvibes

I don't like breakfast cereal (unless it's froot loops :scared1:) so I best buy none, i'm lucky, DS doesn't like it either, he eats it too slow and it goes soggy

Pancakes this morning (babysitting my sisters kids), and i'll have bacon and eggs maybe with some mushrooms and tomato, gotta change it up a bit...

things have healthy written on them, or light..and we assume that they are good.....nope!

I thought noodles would be a healthy snack...OMG was I wrong.

maybe I should take my glasses when i go shopping now, the writing is so small:scared1:

LOL showing your age

I have perfect vision (right now), sadly the rest of me ain't so perfect...

and since i got my specs around 18 months ago, my eye sight has gotten a lot worse.....:confused3

oh dear, when did i turn into my mother???:rotfl:

but eventually, at no fault of our own, we do turn into them...

it happens quietly, slowly , over time....there is no medication, no cure.

I now have my mothers crap eyesight and big bum..can I say bum here??? rump, bot, derrière.......

so thank you mother, these things I just couldnt live without:rotfl:

my brother got the nice wavy hair, the 6ft 4 mega thin body that can eat crap 24/7, the mega high IQ DNA and I got the squinty, fat bummed, shrill voice DNA.......damn you karma!!!:crazy2::crazy2:

have just spent the last hr going thru all the kids work from school over the years..trying to cull......really sad seeing their yr 1 work, and now they are all grown.

will put them all in a scrap album for future perusal...so sad they have to grow up......so now hunting for junk food to make myself feel better:confused3

or maybe i should just mow the lawn:firefight

I lost 100 grams last week. Note to self - eating a kilo of grapes a day isn't helping at all..:rotfl: Still I've lost 800 grams a week on average for the last three, so that's not too bad.

I just worked out that DH earned 60 Weight Watchers points in exercise today. He can't walk too well but he can eat a cartload of steak and chips tonight. :rotfl2:

I fell into that exact trap..thought grapes were ooba healthy, but not by the kilo....the sugar alone:faint:
should have drunk a bottle of wine a night instead..would have been more fun :drive:
good on you re the 2.4 kg drop..nice:thumbsup2

but you know it will all come off your b00bs......never comes off anywhere decent like hips, bum, tummy...nope!

Two words for you all:

STARBURST SNAKES

I don't think I need to say any more...

Nope, never ever any change there Karen. They are static in size. I was completely bombarded by people telling me horror stories about what would happen to them when I got pregnant with twins. Tales of cabbage leaves to contain them etc etc. However no change. Lost 20 kgs in 9 weeks once (direly ill in hospital) and no change again. Can't win - they never want to leave me, they just want to get further down my body and year by year seem to want to take up residency in my navel.

Honestly I swear there should be a book about ageing and things to expect like 'darts in clothing no longer are representative of where ya baps are' and 'old people's teeth look wonky not due to dental facilities as a child but because everyones teeth suddenly start to drift to the centre of your mouth'. :lmao:

I have just had the best fillet steak ever! Kinda blew the WW points today but I don't care. Yum yum, I can thoroughly recommend buying half a cow and having it cut to order. Now we are down to about 57kgs of beef in the freezer.

Why is there no smilie wearing a bib with steak knives? And we need one banging their head against a wall.

I always thought noodles would be ok too, until I read the packet properly!

I made a big batch of chicken and corn soup in the slow cooker last night, made 8 serves so we had that for dinner and I'll have it for the next few days for lunch too. I was so over my normal salad for lunch, it's just too cold for salad!

Noodles are really really bad. Anything altered from the source product as a carb is going to be bad. Take rice, goes thru a lot of processing to get to your pantry in a bag.

so today i woke up with like a nuclear migraine, but due to issues at work did not call in sick. almost threw up getting there from the pain/heat/movement etc, but i was there, pale and clammy and just wanting to kill everything if only for a little respite from the pain. notfun.

had a giant cup of english breakfast tea for breakfast, and that soothed a little of the savage beast.

lunch was a handful of sakatas and approx 20g of ham. couldn't stomach the thought of anything else.

mega dose painkillers and some more tea for a/noon snack, and now for dinner i think i am also in the mood for soup. such a rotten day outside, i'm cold and ill. not happy jan!!:sick:

chicken and corn soup is my abso fave!!! so much goodness and yet not heavy in your belly...

re the low fat thing... i have to be really careful here. i can no longer have full fat anything, but i also need to be really careful about low GI too. i find that yoghurt and bread and anything pre-made like sauces, mayonnaise etc are usually low in fat but high in sugar, so i'm kinda screwed in either way. i'm loving a yoplait yoghurt that i have in my fridge right now. low fat, low sugar, low gi and it actually tastes nice :woohoo:

might hold off on riding the bike tonight. feel like any more blood rushing to my head will cause the damn thing to explode right off.

hope your feeling better soon......maybe a nice soy hot chocolate with sugar free marshmellows will do the trick :thumbsup2.....

i had to scrape all the toppings & cheese off the pizza my mates bought today for lunch..but they were kind enough to leave me their crusts:thumbsup2
