Getting family on MDE account?

Hi all, sorry if this is not the right place to post this. I tried a search but cannot see to find what I'm looking for.
I created an MDE account, family names were added when I linked my room-only (for now) reservations numbers. Then I was prompted to "invite" my family to join so that I can make ADR's, and I'm assuming FP for all of us at once.
My problem is that my DH went to the email that was sent, and worked through it fine, and I can see that his invitation was accepted. However, I sent the same invitation to my MIL who said first that it didn't work, and then "It worked!". Well, I cannot see her as having accepted my invitation. I don't know if it is the system, or, more likely, she is NOT computer savy and I have no idea what she did to make it "work."

What I want to know is, do I have to go through this? Why can't I just make the ADRs and FP reservations for my group? Why do I have to get the family members to accept an email invitation, create an MDE account, and link to me? Is there a way around this or not? What happens for people who are bring grandma and grandpa who might not even have email access at all?

Thanks for any advice.
(Of course, will this all change anyway when I convert to a package in a few days? Will I need to do all this over again since I might have new reservation numbers???)

As I am re-reading the directions on MDE... is this correct?

If I have family listed in my MDE under "Family and Friends", I can go ahead and make FP and ADR's for all of us together.

The only reason that a family member needs to get invited to my account, open their own MDE account, accept my invitation, etc., is so that they can also see all the plans that I have made for us all?

So, maybe, if my MIL never accepts the invite, she won't be able to see the plans herself. But if she doesn't care, then it won't matter. All I want to be able to do is be sure everyone is listed (they are) and then I can go ahead and make the reservations for all of us by myself.

If everyone is listed there, can I do that?

If your MIL suddenly decides to accept your invitation after you make plans, it is a total pain to deal with. I had this happen recently. We are going for 10 nights, with my mother and stepfather joining us for the first 7 nights (but staying off site) and my father, stepmother and sister joining us for the last 4 (staying onsite).

If you are certain she will not accept it, just make your plans and list her in your account.

If she has not made an MDE account, she cannot actually accept your invitation. Have her set one up, with the same email address you used, and invite her again. Once you have seen that she has accepted, then book everything.

It took me an hour on the phone to get mine sorted out last week. The less you have actually assigned things to people (ie ADRs), the easier it is.

Also, you need tickets linked for everyone before you can make FastPass+ bookings for them.

Where you see her namein Friends & Family if she has not linked it will say You manage this account. If she has accepted next to her name it will show what you share (MIL can view all your plans. & MIL can view and purchase your PhotoPass photos or MIL can view your shared plans)

You don't need an account for everyone. You can just manage everyone's reservations yourself. Grandma and grandpa never need to look at a computer or a smartphone.

Thanks, this is just what I was looking for. I don't want to deal with what a PP said about a hassle after the fact, so I'm just going to let it be and leave her invitation as is and not make her accept it. I just wanted to be sure that I didn't have to have her go through all the account set up girations in order to be able to do the ADRs and FP (when we get tickets linked) for my whole group at once.

Thanks all!!!
