Thanks for all the info. everyone. We are going to RPR Aug 20-24 and switching to HRH Aug24-27. Can't wait to try the delicious food that have been seen on the trip reports. Will take Sun Ray to RPR and stock up on essentials with the stop to the store.
We have a solid week and it should be great. I will have a trip report and will try to take pictures and post them.
We live 50 miles south of Montreal and will fly out of Burlington Vt. We will be meeting some friends at the RPR as they are going one week before usand we will have one day to hang with them.
Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone for their opinions and information. It will be better because of this forum.

You have answered this question before, hundereds of times. We will be in a garden room at the HRH, and a standard room at the RPR. CAn I call and request a room in advance. If so which ones would you recommend?
We are also in a Cabana at the HRH on Sat. Just to wind down before our vacation is over. The family will enjoy it for sure. Number 5. I hope they will play the new spiderman. My boys are 12 and 13. 13 YO is a big movie and music hound. Both enjoy movies.
DW said I am more excited than than the kids. She is right as usual
We will be doing a day or 2 at SW. Would I be able to get a reservation in advance to Dine with Shamu? If so at what number?
This should be a more relaxed vacation than last yr. at Disney. Had a wonderful time though. DW said this the last theme park vacation
I wouldn't count me out on that when we have another nice time.

pay for a cheaper room and get upgraded for free.

for the pool view the 00 and 02 numbers have a great view of the park.
for garden, i have to check my notes. probably the boat dock would be a good view. or the waterway on the other side of the hotel.

garden view can be of the waterway, boatdock, gardens, front drive of the hotel, parking lot views.

i have stayed at all 3 hotels. stayed at rph last fall. i requested tower 1.
had a great view of the parks and the hulk and dr doom. also a view of the water way.

you can call and request a certain room number and floor number.
top floor at hrh is the 7th and that is concierge/club.
always request the 6th floor for the better view.

at hrh, you can get an obstructed view and it will be discounted. cheaper than the regular rate you have. a lot of the trees and bushes, etc have grown up over the years and there are quite a few rooms that have a partial blocked view. if you get that, request a discount on the room.
same for rph views.

call and make a request. when you check in, and try to check in early, see what room they have you in. check out the room before you take it if possible.

So are you saying that after we get to HRH and we get a room with an obstructed view I can request a discount even though I didn't request the obstructed view? And...do you know if I can request the obstructed view rate ahead of time even though I have booked a package deal?

if you have a pool view and it is obstructed, you can get that room discounted.

i'm not sure how they do that with a package though. if they are charging rack rate on the room portion of the package, it would make sense for the discount for that portion. you would have to ask at the front desk.

my experience has been the room only booking.

some people request the obstructed view at hrh for the discount.

This sound too good to be true as far as the upgrades go.Can't wait. DW will be iimpressed by my savy skills in the upgrade. Boys will like milk and cookies.
