Getting enchant magic key

I will be going to Disneyland 2 times this year, but one of those times will be for 5 days. What is the likelihood that I would be able to reserve the 5 th day during my stay after using for the first day of that trip. I understand you can only get park reservations for 4 days at a time and have to wait until your use one of them to make the fifth. Financially it would make sense to get the enchant ticket but I worry that I will not be able to go to the park on the 5 th day of all the reservation availability is all gone. Thank you

I think it depends on when you go. Certainly there will be times when you won’t be able to but we were here this week and were able to pick up 2 additional days with our enchant key for a total of 6 straight days in the parks.

Will you be staying on site? If so, you may be able to use the hotel reservation bucket which might have more availability.

What day of the week would the 5th day be on? That might make a difference (e.g. Friday being harder).

Is it just you? I think getting a single reservation might be fairly easy. Especially as you'd be able to keep checking after your first day in the park. I don't have a magic key, but have considered getting the Enchant key as well. It seems to me that reservation availability frequently changes. Even if things look all reserved, you might be able to snag a last minute one as people cancel the night before your last park day.

The second week of September is generally a good week for availability. (I'm assuming you mean the week of the 11th.) Sunday through Tuesday might be a wildcard because of the Expo (a lot of folks will hit the parks the days before, during, and after the Expo) - but everything after that should be okay.

In general, we tend to suggest just buying a 5-day parkhopper and upgrading to an Enchant key at the very end of your trip. That would guarantee you entry for all five days. You'll miss some of the discounts, but you won't have to stress about losing a day. (Reminder: under the current system, upgrading to a Key will cost you your existing reservations, so it's usually best to do that after you leave the last park. Hopefully, they'll fix that in the next six months.)

If you're willing to risk it and get an Enchant key before your trip, I think the smart play would be to book any Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on your itinerary before anything else. Those days will fill up before the others do. So, for example, if you're going Wednesday through Sunday, leave Thursday open and book it as soon as you get into the park on Wednesday.

But, yes, they do tend to add availability the night before. In theory, it shouldn't be all that hard to get the extra day.

The honest answer - you probably won't have a problem getting the fifth reservation. But, unfortunately, the best we can give you is probably. There's no real guarantee.

Agree with this—never a guarantee but strong possibility. We have enchant and last week switched our reservation from one park to the other the night before when the week had previously been completely booked. Surprisingly it was for a Saturday for 5 people. It seems like there is a lot of availability the night before between people cancelling and Disney adding more availability. I booked around 9pm.

Prioritize reservations for Friday to Sunday first. Last year, it got difficult to get reservations starting in late September but it should be possible to pick up a last minute reservation later in the evening on the day before as people cancel.
