When you buy a hat to get the gold Mickey ears is it one code card per hat or one period?

I am going to be buy a few extra pairs of mouse ears for gifts and it would be great if I can get extra cards.

Do I need to do seperate transaction like on each time we go into the park?

Same for the Red Penny Press. We are being home a treat for the kids in my DD class and come type of candy from the shop in Frontierland would be perfect.

I have a little extra time today so I was thinking about my trip.

i honestly dont know ( i have not been back since vmk started, about the time our aps expired vmk started )
but good question i am very inerested in the answer.

When I was there in June, it was one card per hat. However, we had to ask for the cards. (The tour was just starting that day, so VMK was all pretty new) On the other hand, I have heard people say they only got one card when they purchased multiple hats (as in a one per purchase, not per item). I think it is the luck of the draw as in who is behind the counter somtimes. :confused3

I did note, though, that if you get one of the younger Cast Members in the hat shop, you can get away with more. I am the proud owner of ears emblazened with TISHKE on the back. :rotfl: DH said if they asked, he was going to tell them I was Dutch

Lisa,

I have seen (on another nameless board lol) where it has varied depending on the cm. If you get one that is only willing to give 1 card period (which some said has happened, at wdw not DL) then try again later in the day or simply have everyone in your group do their own purchase.

On a side note, if anyone is not going to the parks anytime soon.. I bought a set of gold disneyland ears from a park shopping service (they actualy go into the park and buy items and ship them to you) and they included the card (i made sure to ask first in a e-mail lol) . (to get it to work properly in their inventory system they charge 1 cent for the card, big deal lol). This may not be for everyone. But i'm in jersey, not getting to Cali any time soon and wanted the real ears. So for about $20 total i got the ears, and the virtual ears lol. Wont post the addy here, as i do not know the deal with posting links to other sites on the dis, but peeps can pm me if they need a link.

Sorry lis, not trying to hijack the thread, just popped in my head and figured i would try and help people who may not get to a park anytime soon. ;)

To that same token, I live about an hour from the parks and I'm happy to pick up ears for any who might want them. I manage to get to the parks about 2 weekends a month.

Also, the price of ears recently went up. It's now $11.95 for a pair of Adult ears, embroidering is free. When I got my ears about 2 months ago, they were only $9.95.

I've been to WDW several times since VMK started. At the hat shop they gave me one card per hat, but I had to ask for the second one.
At the candy shop they gave me a whole stack of penny press cards (about 6 or 7) when I bought one candy. I asked for the card, and the CM just gave me a handful. She said she hadn't given out any that day yet. (But she only gave my DH one)
When my DH and I bought our pins we had to talk to the CM, because he only wanted to give us one card for two pins purchased. But he ended up giving us two.
I think it just depends on who is working at the time.

What we've been doing is asking at the register if we need to make separate purchases or if we can buy the stuff together and get 2 cards. Depends on the CM. Some say must purchase separately others say no problem. We have only bought 1 hat, but lots of candy for red pressers.

Just FYI----Right now the cheapest hats are the black Mickey ears or there is a Toy Story 2 navy blue sunhat on sale for $7.99.

When we were in WDW in early July, we didn't know how it worked either. When we were buying hats and buying candy, before we had the CM ring up our items, we asked first, if we would get 1 card per item, or 1 card per transaction. We told her we'd like 1 card per item and if necessary we'd ring each item up separately. (At the time we had DSs with us who we thought would be playing VMK too, so we wanted 4 of each card since we were buying 4 of each item). After explaining this, the CMs were very nice and told us we could ring up everything together and she'd give us the correct amount of cards.

We also had a great experience with a CM in the Pin place, she gave us a few extra cards for nothing, after chatting with her and explaining to her exactly what VMK is :)

I do not think there is a problem with posting links to other sites.

In the guide I have the telephone numbers to WDW merchandising I wonder if you called and ordered a hat through them if they would include the card?

WDW Attraction Merchandise Mail Order: 407-363-6200
Open Monday thru Friday 8:30 - 11:45 and 12:30 - 5:00 (eastern). If an item is available at the parks, they'll try and track it down and ship to you. Shipping charges for Walt Disney World Mail Order are $8.95 and $13.95 for UPS, and $13.95, $18.95, $22.95 and $27.95 for Federal Express charges, depending on value of order and service requested. When will the gold ears go offsale? Aeryn I may have to take you up on that because I do not think we will be getting to WDW before next Sept now.

At Disneyland, the cast members I have run in to are very particular about VMK cards. You have to buy something (they will not give you a card for the asking) and they will only give you one card per item purchased. That being said, you can buy any hat, not just gold ears to get the card, you can buy anything in the magic store to get a card, you can buy anything (not just a tee- shirt) at Star Traders to get the T-shirt card, and the pin store will give you one card per pin, but you do need to ask.

I was at Disneyland for the 50th birthday celebration, and I bought a pair
of gold ears the night before they gave us special free gold ears.

But I digress. :)

I smiled and asked if they had the VMK card for gold ears, and the cast
member was awesome and gave me a couple of extras. :goodvibes

The magic shop also gave me extras, but I didn't ask the cast member for
the extras. I only received one pin card, and I didn't buy any candy for
the penny machine.

I went to WDW in July and I received one card for the purchase of my hat. I had to ask for it. When I went into the candy store, the CM gave me extra cards when I purchased a roll of Sprees. She said (as in a previous post) that no one was asking for the cards and she was happy to give them away. I got one in the pin shop - no offer for extras. That CM looked pretty strict! I think that it depends on the store, who waits on you, etc. The one thing I found dismaying is that when I wanted to "register" my screen name in VMK Central, the CM had no idea what I was talking about. When I got home, I didn't have my Born in Park badge and I didn't get my black Mickey ears. Subsequent e-mails on the VMK Home Page fixed that (it took three in all, and my ears just appeared about three days ago). Be insistent when you know you are right - you may know more about the game than the CM's do! But I applaud VMK for correcting the problem. Enjoy the park!
