Ok, we have been to disney a couple times now. Any tips on getting my 9 year old DS on the bigger rides. The first year we sort of "tricked" him onto BTMR in MK. Last year we got him on Splash mountain.

What things have you done to get them on bigger rides???

We went to WDW when DS was just that age. Now, I would never FORCE him on a ride but I knew that DS could be reluctant to try new stuff so I strongly encouraged him to try eveything just once. He road EVERYTHING there. Somethings he loved, like R&R, others he just road once but he was totaly ok with everything. I am not above a small "bribe" if you know your child will really like something but is just hesitant to try it. For example after he rides space mountain (Which BTW ,DS LOVED at that age), let him pick a brave kid reward from the SM gift shop. Now I do not make a child ride anything if they really are scared. WE have seen this so many times and it breaks my heart. YOu have to know your own child,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I too have never forced him on a ride. We didn't ride alot of things last year because he was alittle scared of the unknown I think. And he loved the rides after he rode them, it was just getting him on it, that was the challenge. :flower:
