Getting desserts to go?

This may have been covered already but I was wondering - if you're on the DDP and can't (or don't want to) eat your dessert at the restaurant, will they package it up to go? I noticed alot of them in the food pictures thread seem to be in clear plastic to-go type containers. TIA

We were on the DDP last October, and we often took our desserts back to the hotel room (we were staying at CBR and had a mini fridge).

Thanks - that's good to hear. Judging by the portions I've been seeing in some of the pictures, I doubt I'll have room for dessert too. I'm glad I'll be able to take it back for a snack later.

We did that several times last year without a problem. Since last years plan included the appetizer, there were many times we couldn't manage dessert.

We did it every time last year on DDP with the appetizer - this year without one I'm not sure. Every restaurant had no problem in giving us a dessert to go. Some desserts don't lend themselves to well to travel - like hot ones or those with ice cream but there is always something that can be packed up to go.

First, please indulge me for a moment - I'm honestly NOT giving the OP a hard time, but my immediate response was, "No, all those Guests snuck in their own take-out containers and snuck out the dessert"

Seriously, yes, you can get your dessert to go. The occasional/rare location may require/demand that you have it served on a plate first, then will box it up even if you haven't touched it.

I've even had servers volunteer which dessert/s will travel well - for example, Turf Club's chocolate cake with the liquid center doesn't even need to be refrigerated (or didn't, last year).
