We are going during free dining so we opted to get a package with the DDP. My husband has an AP so we are only buying the one-night ticket for all and then will upgrade mine and kids' tickets to the 4-nite option. DH will use his AP.

I read somewhere how to do this but can't recall. To make sure that he doesn't accidentally use his room key as an entrance ticket one day, what should he do? I thought someone said that immediately upon checking in we should go and exchange his one-day ticket for a paper ticket or something like that. Is that correct? Then I could put it away for a future visit.

When we went last Sept I had an AP, but did a MYW pkg in order to get the free dining. While I was down there I went to guest services at MK and tried to get the MYW ticket taken off my room key, but was told twice that they couldn't do it and to just to keep the ticket on the room key until I needed it. When I came back, I read reports here on the Dis boards of people being able to get a paper ticket, so when I went back in Dec I went to guest services at MK again and finally a manager was able to take my room key from the Sept trip and get me a paper ticket.

I went back this past May and again bought a MYW pkg. This time I went to guest services at DTD to get my paper ticket and had no problems.

Anyway, it's up to you if you want to keep his one day ticket on his room key and then use it later directly from the room key or if you want to go ahead and get it transferred to a paper ticket. However if you do decide to get it transferred to a paper ticket there are some CMs who may have trouble doing it.

I am wanting the answer as well.
