Getting CS meals from WL for FW...easier typed than done?

We're staying @ FW in early December, and like many we're trying to find a good way to use ALL of our CS meals. Is theire an internal bus that travels to WL, since WL has a CS joint? I heard talk of this on the boards, but the post was from 2002 or 2003, and I know how often things change at WDW.Can you drive the golf carts to WL? How far is it to WL from FW (5, 10, 15 minutes?) Does anyone know of a map with the purple, yellow, orange routes on them/ (Correct colors???) Just trying to pinch every penny till it bleeds copper juice!!

ok, you could get on the boat (the larger one) at the dock and take it to WL, or you could ride bikes or walk (sorry, no golf carts allowed) on the approx 1 mile wooded trail between FW and WL. lovely walk actually. the trail starts (on the FW side) back by the back of the petting zoo/horse stables/main bus stop. it will dump you out near the bus area at WL.

sorry, i don't take the busses when visiting FW....hopefully someone else will know if the internal busses stop at WL direclty or if you have to go to a park/DTD first and then catch another WL specific resort bus.

We used the DDP when we were there too and had the same issue. On the days that we weren't in the parks, we went to Roaring Forks at WL for CS meals. They have decent pizza, soup, salad and sandwiches. You also get a nice sized dessert with your CS. There are basically 4 options to get to WL other than driving your car
1- walk from settlement to WL (about one mile, took us about 20 minutes wiht the kids)
2- ride your bikes over (about 7-8 minutes from settlement area)
3- There is a bus that just goes back and forth from WL to the Settlement area (at least there was when we were there). The bus is faster than the boat if you catch it right. It comes every 10 minutes or so. We never waited longer than 5 minutes. We would drive our golf cart to the settlement and then get on the bus.
4- The boat is nice for a change. Sometimes you have to wait a little bit though for the next boat.

I'd also recommend taking the boat over to the Contemporary and checking out the CS meals there. Or if you aren't short on time, take the boat to MK and then the monorail to GF and check out their CS meals. We weren't able to do either last time because of time restraints, but we are definitely going to next time.

Ya know...I only considered the WL because its right next door....but if I cant drive the cart there...heck, I guess any of the resorts is now as easy to get to as any other....so this raises a new question....I hate to do this to ya'll, especially since I haven't done a search to see if this may already be answered somewhere..but, here goes

Whats your favorite counter service restaurant in a resort?

My two favorites are (1) Grand Floridian & (2) Polynesian. IMO they offer the most variety. WL would be 3rd & CR 4th. These are the 4 resorts you can get to the easiest by Disney's transportation.

Now, if you would like to drive yourselves, the food courts at the two Port Orleans resorts and the one at Pop Century are really good, too!!

With these new dining plans, you can literally eat your way around Disney & still have meal coupons left!!!! GREAT PLAN for families!!
