Hi,

We are so close to purchasing. Just have to wait until the end of October for our trip to WDW.

My questions are:

The way we have our scheduled planned, we only have time to go to the tour our first night there. (The time between Epcot and DisneyQuest). Is there somewhere specific we have to go to sign up for the tour? I remember when we were there in 2000 there was one at DTD.

Do you think I need to call in advance and get time for the tour?
Will that ruin my chance of getting Disney dollars? I heard they were giving people Disney dollars for going on the tour.

When we go on the tour we'd like to see BCV and OKW. Will they take us to these resorts?

I have been reading these boards and the two resorts we'd like to buy points for are BCV and OKW. Are those sold out? Maybe I will have to buy resale.

How do I make sure I dont get a pushy salesman? My husband will get up and leave and our chance will be gone to purchase. He is very skeptical and doesnt trust sales people anyway. He is very open to purchasing, I just know how he is after 13 years of marriage.

Thanks so much for your advice and help. I couldnt have know this much so far in advance without you!

While they do take walk ups, that's how they hooked us, since you have a tight schedule I'd say call, get a guide assigned and make an appt. I don't know about giving away Disney Dollars (haven't heard that one before) but I wouldn't let that get in your way, I'm sure it wouldn't be very much anyway.

As far as I know there are no model's at OKW so it's either pictures or maybe they'd have a regular room you could peak into. If your staying on the grounds and have a car just drive over and look around the resort yourself. OKW was sold out a long time ago, but sometimes they have some points they can sell due to buy backs. If you're interested in OKW you should look into resales, they're usually cheaper then purchasing directly from DVC but it might take awhile to find the exact point package and price you're looking for.

Sorry, can't help on your BCV question, I don't think they're sold out but haven' t been tracking it.

As for the sales pitch, it's VERY low keyed, no pressure at all. They lay out the point system and costs and some of the rules/regulations about banking/borrowing. Our guide left us with the computer so we could play around with all the different points that we were thinking about and what the mortgage payment would be. Don't forget, if you purchase then change your mind you can cancel, I think it was within 10 days, maybe 7, of signing the papers. Good luck, if you join I think you'll be saying why didn't we do this along time ago (like we did) and wonder how you could ever go back to a non DVC room for vacation. Enjoy!

Call the DVC number and make your appointment before you go. Ask to tour ALL the resorts. They will do that for you. I have often seen folks being taken through OKW. Both BCV and OKW are sold out from Disney, but may be available with points they have aquired from folks who have put their points up for sale, and DVC has bought back. The other route is to buy resale. See the Timeshare Store add.
