Getting close to a car...

I just got home from work and am a little confused. :confused3

I work at a coffee shop and had just gotten off of work and was taking one of my assistant managers to her car. I was backing up and I have to say I'm pretty good at backing up (I used to work at a car dealership and all I did was rearrange the lot so I was pretty good at backing up, getting close, and not hitting cars). Anyways, after backing up and putting my car in drive I happened to look over my left shoulder and there was a girl in the car to the left of me giving me the dirtiest look and it kind of startled me.

I thought maybe she was having a bad day or something so we drove off. She gets out of her car and throws up her arms and follows me (I didn't see this at the time, my assistant manager did). My AM looks at me and asks if I hit her even though neither of us heard anything. I said I don't think so and I pulled under a streetlight to check out my car and there was zero damage. We were both very confused at this point (I've hit a few things before and know what the sickening sound of hitting something~even slightly~sounds like).

I dropped her off at her car and a few minutes later my cell phone rings. It's the GM of the coffeeshop calling (he was still cleaning floors when we left, he's a really great guy). He says the girlfriend of one of the cooks downstairs is FLIPPING out because I hit her car. Even more confused I pulled over again and super analyzed my car. I told him that I didn't have any damage (I have a black SUV) but I would gladly come back. He told me to hold on.

A few minutes later he gets back on and says that apparently she is flipping out because I came close to her car and didn't apologize. :confused3 He tells me not to come back as she is acting crazy so I drove home.

But now I don't know what to do. She apparently drives her boyfriend to work every night and picks him up (he works the same schedule I do). She looks about 17-18. I would have gladly apologized (even though I don't think it's really offensive if someone gets close to my car, just as long as it isn't hit but hey she may find that very offensive). Now I'm afraid I may come out to some crazy girl that wants a fight or damages my car.

She was also parked in one of the apartment parking spaces for the people that live upstairs from the coffeeshop that no one is supposed to park in except the people that live there.

What should I do?? :confused3

I would pay it no mind . If she gives you a stare down then just calmly walk over and tell her you have a backup camera and knew exactly where you were.

I drive in a large city most days squeezing in and out of spaces all day. They don't call them Bumpers for nothing.

OKAY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? :confused3

This girl needs some anger classes and quickly!

You do not owe her an apology. That is the problem right there, everyone has been apologizing to her for NO REASONS AT ALL!!!

Just move on from all this.

at first, I thought tell her "hey sorry I scared you the other day by getting too close to your car" but then...HECK NO! Who does she think she is?? She's some spoiled teenager that had a hissy fit over nothing! You didn't hit her, that's all that matters. You shouldn't have to explain your driving skills to her. She needs to calm herself down! Geez, hope she doesn't get this upset over everything...
