We are going on a 4 night Disney Cruise in a couple of weeks. We are also going to WDW in February (We love Disney!). I want to do Cinderella's Breakfast and I would need to call while we are on the cruise. I have 3 different days I could try for. The cruise leaves on a Sunday and returns on Thursday. I could call for Cindy's on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday while we are on the ship. My SIL who would call for me will be with us on the cruise. I don't have anyone else who would call. Is there some way I can do this from the ship? Do you have any idea how I could maybe get my ressie?

Thanks for any advice!

Well...you can call directly from the ship to WDW reservations but it will cost you big time...it is $6.95 or more PER MINUTE to call ship to shore or vice versa....isn't there any way to call before you leave for your cruise??

I know how hard those reservations with Cindy are to get...so I wanted to wish you the best....I had to try this past year...and to my suprise I was conected on my first call and able to get the exact time I was looking for...Only I ended up calling a whole day early....At that point I figured I better go ahead and keep that one...and not try my luck the next day....Unfortunatly due to the hurricanes...we weren't able to go at all :(

Like the previous poster noted it will cost you ALOT to call directly from the ship....however if you are close to land any of those dates you may have some luck with a cell phone...but beware you may be roaming...depending on your cell plan.

Good luck.

CindyBeth, can you get someone in the states to call for you? That would probably be your best bet! At least you're cheapest bet! :teeth: Good Luck!

HI. Wow, that would be a huge cost. How about transferring your ressies to Dreams Unlimited and letting them do it for you? Or, you could find a neighbor or work friend to call for you? Do you have anyone housesitting for you? Do cell phones work from the ship? Just some ideas. I hope you get that CRT table. We love it when we did it last June. It's worth the hassle, but I'm not sure it's worth 7$ per minute and probably several minutes on hold....

Cell phones won't work on the ship while you are at sea. However, if none of the previously posted suggestions work, there are phones in Nassau (you stop there Monday) at the dock. I would reccommend buying a calling card before your vacation if you decide to use the Nassau phones.

I'm confused. Why do you need to call from the ship? I was under the impression that PS ressies opened up 90 days before the date you need, so if you wait til you are on the ship, you are not likely to get a PS. On the restaurant board, there is a thread about how to call on the 90th day before to get a PS. Apparently, it is not easy. I've also read its easier to let your TA do it. Like DU, which is what I plan to do.

She'll be on the ship on the 90 day point ... this is for a February PS, so 90 days out is November and that's when she'll be on the ship. She's concerned if she waits until she returns to the US from the ship (day 88 or 87 or something like that) she won't be able to get a CRT PS at that point (since they normal sell out in 5 minutes or less on day 90).

I would go to the front desk and see if they can place the call for you... never hurts to ask, and if they say no, then you can still just pay for the call.. it's a little pricey, but if its something you really want to do, then it's probably worth it.

Ohhhh, Ok, I see. I was thinking this was all part of 1 vacations not 2. Lucky you!:D

I would have a TA do it so you don't have to stress on your cruise! I hear DU's the best!

Thanks for all the responses! We are DVC members and using points, so unfortunately I can't switch over to a TA. I can try a couple of friends, but some aren't up at that time, are kinda forgetful, or just think I'm too obsessed with Disney!

I will try asking at guest services on the ship to see if they have any ideas, never hurts to try!

I don't think calling from Nassau would work as you don't get off the ship until 9am or so, which would miss the window for ressies!

My SIL's cell phone has coast to coast coverage, so I was going to try calling from the ship on Thursday morning, day we get back to port. Hopefully, we can get service, but that would only leave me that day to try for Cindy's, so if we don't get it we aren't going!

It was just too wierd that the 90 mark for February is the exact days we are on the cruise this November!!! Does this mean we go to Disney too much?!

You do realise that you need a credit card to reserve for the Cindy Breakfast, right? If you're the type to give your card number to friends, can I be your friend?

Yes the ship to shore is not cheap, but it's probably the most reliable method to guarantee you get it right.

I would also suggest stopping by guest services. Just wait until it's quiet at the desk and approach them.

Tammi - Thanks, I think I will do that, cuz you never know!

MarkRG - Sure you can be my friend!!! I can always use more friends, but I don't really give my card number to them! Actually someone else can make a ressie in your name, you will then have two weeks to either mail them a deposit or call in your card number.

Preb - Since you are going on both trips with me, I think someone else is goes a little too often as well!

Is there anything DVC could do to help you out? Maybe someone on their guest service team could make the call for you? I've never dealt with DVC so maybe that isn't possible but it would sure seem like they would want to help you out if they could.

Or try calling Disney Dining and see if they have any suggestions for your. I realize it is a very popular eating time but they also try to do what they can to help.
