This is in regards to the Disneyland cake thread, sort of. Do the resort hotels make cakes? We stayed at the Grand Californian hotel in 2007 for my mom's birthday. I had a local bakery deliver a cake. It didn't occur to me to ask the hotel. Last year we were at Disneyland on my birthday and stayed at the Disneyland hotel. My mom said she called the hotel and wanted to surprise me with a cake, but that the price had been astronomical. What are the costs to get a cake at a resort hotel?:confused3

My friend got one a little over 2 1/2 years ago. It was over $50 for the cheapest option. I think it fed 8-10. And honestly, it wasn't very good cake or icing. It was dry chocolate cake, and the icing was bland like whipped cream and spread really thing. The filling was the best part. And it looked good.

We get cakes frequently. We've only had 1 "not so great" cake. This is from Feb 2013.

Thanks for the responses....For those who want a good bakery recommendation if you decide not to get one from the hotel, I highly suggest Amazing Cakes. They're located in Anaheim. They made an Italian rum cake for my family in 2007 and it was to die for. Speaking of Amazing Cakes (this is off topic) the man I had spoken to on the phone had lived in the area for 25 years and he asked me for directions to the Grand Californian hotel. :rotfl2: How the heck was I suppose to know? LOL!!!
