We won't have our APs this trip, waiting to get them when we go back with our girls. I know we'll take a bus to the start from BC, but how will we get back to our room?!? We have always gone the back entrance to Epcot when staying at BCV, I don't even think they have buses back to BC or BW from the front? Since we won't have passes we won't be able to walk back thru Epcot. Anyone know? Are we gonna have to bring money for a taxi? Should we drive our car? Do people even drive to this start or are the roads all closed at the finish? :confused3

Shan: Take the race buses back to BC. Without a park ticket, that is the best way.

After the half we took a bus back to BC .... you might have to wait a few minutes for the bus to arrive and then a few minutes for it to fill up - then you will be on your way! It is the same type of bus that transports runners to the expo and the start (Mears?? Something like that , not the usual Disney transportation buses, they are more comfy). You will see a large staging area when you walk through the finish area stuff -- they have signs w/ the resort names on them so you know where to wait or get on. We usually have a vehicle but we don't drive to the start - we use the transportation provided. Part of the experience :thumbsup2

If you have a park hopper and remember to bring it ;) It is fun to walk back through Epcot when you are finished to return to any of the Epcot resorts. The way they have the end staged you have to walk a bit of a ways to get to the front entrance of Epcot but it helps get rid of that lactic acid!!

Thank you. I don't think there are normally buses up front that go to BC. Am I correct there? So these buses will be in a totally different area than the normal WDW Resorts bus stop at Epcot?

We kinda have the same problem the morning before cause we're doing the Backstage Magic tour and it starts in the front of Epcot. I think we'll just drive our car for that one.

I was afraid to drive for the Half cause I worried about road closures and such in that area.

This will work. Thanks!

Oh, is it better then to take a bus to the expo or just drive our car??? We drove to the expo for RFTT, but I'm guessing this will be more of a crowd. ;)

Take the bus as again they have a different bus from Disney Transportation that takes you to the Expo. They do this from all resorts.

Shan: Page 22 give all the information about the buses. The race buses are separate from the WDW Buses and do not load in the same areas. At the expo the sometime have a map that will show how the start/finish area will be set up.

It stats that their will be transportation for all Disney hotels to the expo running everyday. Start 1 half hour before it opens and stops 1 half hour after it ends.
Check it out!

We usually drive to the Expo but parking is a nightmare -- I am not going to even try to fib about that one. I have read the bus transportation to the expo is good.

I believe you are correct, there is not bus transportation to the Epcot resorts from Epcot. Yes, the race transportation is in a totally different area than Epcot transportation. I don't know that area well enough to describe it but as you walk through the end staging area you will see a row of the "mears" buses that are for the runners. Dealing with the transportation on race mornings just kind of adds to the experience :goodvibes

I don't think you will have much problem with the busses to get you to/from the Expo and race. I've walked back through Epcot, but not the last 2 times. Too difficult after that full with knee issues. Bus made all the difference. We all have race odor and the poor bus driver must be immune to that by the time the back of the pack (me) will arrive for transport.
