Getting back to AKL after Star Wars Fireworks at DHS

How hard would it be, without a car, on a Crowd Level 5 night, to get back to AKL after watching the Star Wars fireworks at DHS (assuming no EMH, so everyone is basically leaving at the same time)? I have seen various posts about leaving after fireworks (from different parks) and that sometimes people have to wait like an hour for park transportation?!?! But I'm not sure if that is only on higher crowd days, or if it is that bad on mid-level crowd days as well? Are there other options, such as taxis or uber? Or are those super hard to get after fireworks, too? I am just thinking I would rather not have my kids out even later than necessary, given the next day would be busy for us as well.

I assume one strategy would be to watch the fireworks from closer to the park exit in order to make a hasty get-away, which is something I would also consider.

I have not booked a trip yet, and am even considering Boardwalk or Beach Club solely because we would have the option to walk back after fireworks, but those resorts are several hundred dollars more expensive, so it seems a bit silly to stay there just to have the ability to walk home one night.

In all reality? The fireworks were better further down the street, past the street to ToT!!! If you stand there, you'll be among the first to leave the park. Will you have company? Sure, but I doubt you'll be waiting an hour for a bus. I have never, ever waited that long for a bus at park closing.....the longest was 30 mins.

We watched them twice. First time we stood down by the end of the shops, almost to the big open area. It was ok. Then someone recommended standing further back, about where the neon Pluto sign is, up high to the left as you face the fireworks. It was much better there!!
