Getting autographs from characters looses interaction time?

I read a post where someone said this. I was thinking of getting autographs at CP than putting it right next to our picture together. If I'll loose out on interaction tme, I would skip it. Does anyone know if Eeyore does the little rain cloud all the time? Thanks, Amy

We've noticed this. If our kids have their autograph books out the characters sign, pose for pics and move on. If they don't have to sign they may play for a few minutes and be silly then pose for pics and move on. Sometimes they still just pose for pics and move on but we've felt like we had a better chance for interaction if we didn't do autographs. We've been enough that we've new institued a rule that each character only signs once. We already have the ones from the meals so we just play with them. ;)

This is what I was afraid of.

We also don't duplicate signatures. If we already have Mickey, he doesn't sign again. (per trip that is)

In restaurants, it also depends on how crowded it is. We've hung out with Goofy several occassions in Cape May Cafe, the restaurant was practically empty. Goofy sat and colored with my son for at least 15 mins!:)

We also try to spread out the meal so the characters can stop by our table at least twice. First round, do autographs and photos, second round play.

If you have the autograph book ready (page open, pen ready) they usually will sign, pose for pictures and interact a bit.

It also depends on how much your child wants to interact with them. At Hollywood and Vine, a girl at the table next to us was so afraid of the characters that they lingered a bit longer at our table.

We also have our favorite characters that we interact with more than others. My DS4 has a huge crush on June, so when she stops by the table we tell her how much he loves her, that this is the highlight of his vacation, etc... She makes a huge fuss over him.

I wouldn't not get the autograph and photos. Some times, this is your only chance. In peak season, the characters are very limited outside and the lines get very long.

Thanks for the advice!

Actually, I am adult trying the character dining for first time. LOL.

I never got autographs before we had children. Although we had great character interaction! Chip or Dale always flirted with DH, Goofy would look at my wedding ring (they seem to think young couples are only there on their honeymoon -which we weren't :))

The best character interaction for adults I found was CRT. It's all face characters so they really do it up. It was my 30th birthday breakfast and each character made a huge fuss over my birthday. It was really cute. Belle told me that I looked so young I could still steal Prince Charming away from Cinderella. Cute things like that. But lots and lots of chatting. Nothing what we expected.

Skip the autographs and it's a lot of fun for adults.

We've done autographs, and not---it doesn't seem to make a difference.

What does make a difference is the party's willingness to "play with" the characters.
