I am a little nervous about the prospect of navigating my way around disney using the transportation system.

Is there a cheat sheet, map or other resource that I can study in the months before my trip?

My goal is to minimize some of the stress of trying to find my way to different places in and around Disney.

Its actually pretty easy.. Where are you staying? Easiest way is to remember to get to all the parks is taking the bus each resort has bus stops at the resort and at the parks that are clearly marked. There are no resort to resort buses so you will have to take a bus to a park first then catch that resort bus example we have ADR at AKL so we will leave POP and ride to AK then there we will catch AKL bus. There are a few extras like taking water taxi from MGM to EP and/or boardwalk. Taking ferry from MK to Poly taking boat from POR/POFQ to DTD but anyone can help you if you have any questions..There are grids near all the bus stops and CMs standing around ready to answer questions and assist.

You might want to call Disney and ask them to send you a copy of the transportation guide prior to your trip so you may become familiar with it. The buses are clearly marked for which destination, but I can see where it would be overwhelming to figure out.

In my opinion there is nothing better than the Disney Transportation system. Depending which Resort you stay at (Some have monorail and ferryboat service) there will be bus stops at strategic locations (usually no more than a 2 or 3 minute walk from your room) that will be the only place you need to go from your hotel room. Each bus stop receives service from every Disney destination you wish to go to. All the water parks are respresented, Downtown Disney is represented, as well as the Theme Parks. When you arrive at a destination (theme park, water park, or etc) you will be dropped off at a particular spot and you will be told which spot to return to in order to get back to your resort. Sometimes there are lines, but all in all they do a tremedous job and completely take the burden from you on having to drive or worry about parking or any of that.

You will be told when you check into your resort which bus stop will be closest to you.

As far as maps or cheat sheets go, I don't know of any. The buses generally make a pretty straight shot from resort to theme park (or whatever your destination) unless there is another resort on the way and your bus is still mostly empty.

I honestly prefer the buses over any other way to get around. It will completely take the stress out of getting around Walt Disney World.

Trust the Mouse!

One thing to remember is that there are direct buses that go from resorts to parks to resorts. You can also catch buses at TTC and Downtown Disney. Which resort are you staying at?
