Getting AP rates at Portofino - how far in advance?

We'll be getting annual passes for our stay in Orlando this summer. Reading this board, it looks like AP holders can get great rates at the Portofino Bay hotel. Are these AP rates available all year round, or do they become available only from time to time when they have spare capacity in the hotels? If they are available all the time, how far in advance can you book a room at these rates?
