Getting all DVC material twice

Last year I added on a 25 point contract to my main contract. Since then, I get all DVC mailings in double. DVC Files, points charts, you name it, I get two of them.

I've spoken with DVC member services a few times, each time I get the same reply that this is "normal" since I added on. (note added on, same resort, not bought something else).

I inquired does this mean if I added on 4 x 25 points I'd get 6 of everything and she said yes.

That's just plain nuts, and not only a waste of time but money. It all goes straight to the recycling bin.

Anyone else have this problem?
 
We have points at AKV & BLT and only get one copy of the mailings.
 
I have a master contract and 3 add-ons. I only get 1 copy of mailings.

I assume your add-ons are all the same use year,and under the same membership number as the original contract? If so, it shouldn't be happening.

If you have more than one membership number, you'd get mailings for each member number.

Same name, same resort, same use year, same membership number, both bought direct from Disney. Contract is the same, but one ends in .0 and the other in .1 which I assume is normal.

3 different people at member services have said there's nothing to do and this is normal.

This is how ours is, except we have two different home resorts. AKV contract ends in .0, BLT contract ends in .1. We only get one of the all the mailings.
 
I have never got additional copies of anything after adding on in the same use year and that should not happen. We did for a while get double copies of things after purchasing a contract in the resale market with a different use year and member number. Eventually, they ceased sending double copies of things (each use year does continue to get its own annual reports/statements)
 
:confused:I only get 1 copy of everything and I have 2 different membership numbers, 2 different home resorts (SSR & AKV) & 2 different use years.:confused:
 
Thanks for the replies. That's about what I expected. I'll wait a few days and try a 4th call with the confidence to insist that it isn't normal.
 
I'd say talk to member accounting and/or member administration. Express your concern about the cost increasing member dues.
As many have stated, it isn't the usual. Could be the MS people telling you that just don't know what to do, and don't want to bother to find out.
 
We get 2 copies. One in my name and one in DWs name. It has been this way even when we had one contract. I have never bothered to change it.
 
I get two mailings, both in my name. We have 200 SSR points with a June UY that we bought directly form Disney in 2005. We bought 200 more SSR points with a June UY through resale last year. The contract # is the same the only differentiation is that the original disney contract ends in a .0, the resale ends in a .1.

Its kind of annoying, but it will be nice if they ever send out any swag ever again :)

We get 2 copies too; one for DH and one in my name.
I agree with the pp...it is such a waste of money (including the postage)....our money.
 
Originally we got 2 copies - one in my name, the other in DH's. Believe I talked with admin or accounting to change to one copy.

Try Member Administration instead of Member Services. It's the same phone number, but a different option at the first prompt.
 
We purchased 3 contracts in the span of 3 years; 2 with same UY @ BWV and 1 with a different UY @ OKW. For a couple of years we got 2 of everything and then we started just getting one copy. My suspicion is that periodically whomever mails out this stuff (probably a 3rd party; not directly from DVC) goes through their files and looks for duplicate addresses and cleans it up. We have never called anyone.

I bet you'll find there's something different. Names listed differently or in a different order or a minor difference in phone number of address. We get triplicates but we have 2 contracts and 2 different addresses listed on one of them.
