Getting agood pic at Coral Reef

We have reservations for lunch at the Coral Reef. I arranged for the diver since we're celebrating my children's birthdays on our trip. I have a Rebel XTi. I haven't purchased a flash yet. Will I need one to get a decent shot there? Also, does anyone have any tips for getting a good shot there?

as with all shots shooting through glass when you use a flash,
shoot from an angle so the flash does not bounce back into the camera.
