How hard will it actually be to get ADR's durning FD? This is our family first time going for FD, and I'm worried... Our dates are Sept.19-27.....

ADR's go fast.

Last year we went during fd in Aug and really didn't have that difficult w/ adr's. But we ended up with times we really didn't like along with missing out on restaurants that were full...tried to change them when we got there & absolutely no luck then. Try to make them as soon as you can-good luck :goodvibes

Call at the 90 day mark at 7 am EST. I've heard you should have a plan B for every meal, just in case.

We've gone for free dining twice the last week of Sept '06 & '07 and I didn't have any trouble either time getting all the ADR times/dates I wanted......but then I always call at exactly 90 days out (or when it was 180) and right at 7:00 a.m. If you call right away you shouldn't have a problem ;).

You will be fine. Call early. Think about other resturants that are not the most popular. We did that for some of the resort resturants and we were very pleased.

I agree... Call as soon as you can and try and be a bit flexible about times and you should be ok. We went during FD in 07 and we did ok. No, couldn't get Le Cellier for the whole trip, and had to take maybe a 430 pm instead of a 6 pm for dinner, but if you can be flexible, you can make it work....

As a Vet to Free Dining I think Disney is getting smarter as the years go by. Last year there wasn't an ADR to be had the week we were there, BUT when we walked up to a few places we actually got seated with a 10-15 minute wait, without ADR's. Now it wasn't the really popular places like Le Cellier which no one can get into without a reservation, but we got a seat at LTT on MNSSHP night and we got a seat at Casey's and another sit down dining place all without ADR's.

The years before you could never do that, it seemed like they booked every single reservation they could.

If you can't get the ADR's you want try to just walk up to the restaurant and ask, they might have something available.

I was wondering if Casey's has changed since I was last there. Great place for hot dogs, but was unaware they even took reservatioons. I always just went and stod in line for my food. Did they change the menu, and if so, what do they now offer?

I've never had any problems because I always booked at 180 days out. That time frame last year was actually BEFORE free dining was released to the public. With just 90 days this year, I am afraid I won't get those stellar reservations I've been able to secure in the past. I am very nervous this year. :scared1: My DS13 LOVES LeCellier and I'd hate to dissapoint.

No one has any advantage during free dining. So everyone has to call at their appropriate time out. The only difference is just about all the people with the free dining know they have to make reservations. The same guidelines apply - the most popular places will fill up fast so make those reservations first. Have backup plans and times just in case. And don't make such a firm and tight schedule that you will be very upset if your reservations aren't exactly what you want.

Sorry, I have a terrible memory, it wasn't Casey's it was Tony's Town Square Restaurant....my bad :)

We went last August during FD & had no problems however that was when the ADR window was at 180 days. Uber-planners had the advantage since some people may not know where they want to eat in 6 months. Now the ADR window is 90 days. I think more people will be planning & ready to make ADR's at 90 days rather than at 180.

I'll be calling on May 10 & will have a back up for each meal in case the time/place I want is booked already.

I am so-- nervous about all of this - will be glad when it is all taken care of - gonna have plan's a, b, and c all spelled out for hubby as he will be the one calling. We really want to get into CRT but can bascially do it any day at any time - hopefully calling at 7am and being completely flexible we will be able to score a ressie sometime that week. One thing I am happy about is we will be calling the first day that free dining will be open. Only ones ahead of us will be those that will be there prior to FD. Good luck to everyone on getting what they want.

When you book them ahead not too bad, but changing at the resort is almost impossible.

Oh, I wish they would go back to 180 day ADRS!
