Getting a taxi from Downtown Disney?

My husband and i will bet attending the Halloween Horror Nights one of the nights that we are staying at Disney World. We will be getting a bite to eat in Downtown Disney just before we need to get picked up to go to Universal Studios. My question is there a taxi service that is 24 hours that can pick us up at downtown disney and take us to universal studios, and then at midnight take us from universal studios to the Port Orleans Riverside hotel? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I wish I had concrete information to give you but, gees, I dunno, I can't imagine any major American city, especially a touristy one, being without taxi service 24 hours a day. Maybe I didn't understand the query.

I guess my question is there a taxi service that would do this(I am guessing there is), and what is their name, and phone number if you have it. Also can I just call right before or will we need to call 24 hours in advance? I have found lots of trasportation services but all of them only talk about transportation to and from the airport and nothing else. Any information would be greatly appreciated

I wasn't sure if they would do that since all I have found on their website talks about to and from the airport. Will they transport you to and from anywhere in orlando?

Pretty much whatever you need wherever. Just call them to discuss or use the drop down on their online fare estimator. I've had good experiences with them, and I have a strong hunch they do a lot of gigs with WDW. I joked around with DW the other day that Mears is really M(ickey)ears.

If you get a taxi, the name on the side might be checker cab or something similar, but it will say www.mearstaxi.com on the back and the driver should know your name if you ask who he's picking up.

Mears itself is actually in downtown Orlando.

When we were there in June there were tons of Taxis standing by at Downtown Disney and all the theme parks. Usually out by the buses or at Downtown Disney they were in one of the parking lots. We stayed at MK until like 2 am and there were taxis waiting for people. Not sure but I would venture the guess there would be some at Unniversal as well.

Mears is an Option and so is a TownCar service. I have reserched the Towncar and you would be asured of a pickup. PM me and I will give you the name as this site won't let me state the company name unless it is a sponser company. But if cost is a issue I would check with Mears.

There are lines of taxis always outside Universal. You wont have any trouble getting one from Universal whatever time you leave.

One other option is to walk over to any of the DTD hotels. They will either have taxis waiting there, as the Disney resorts do, or they can call one for you.
