I called DCL to try to upgrade from our SPR 5520 to a verandah cabin for our 8/28/04 cruise and there were none available for our family of 4. BUT there are plenty available cabins that sleep 2-3 people. There are NO cabins available that sleep 4.

Has anyone called DCL to let them know if they want to sell your family of 4 cabin they can and give them the OK to give you 2 conneting cabins that sleep 2-3, someone else would definitely not take those cabins since they wouldn't want to spend that much.

TIA

Joanna

Are you saying that you want to give them your SPH room so they can sell it to a family for four ?? and then you would request a complimentary upgrade to two staterooms?

Are you assuming that there won't be a family of three or a family of two that would buy those staterooms at full fare?

I am sure they will let you have the two staterooms if you pay for them, remember that you would have to pay four full fares for those rooms.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly, but if I do, I highly doubt that DCL will give two rooms for the price of one.

Yes that is what I am saying. There are plenty of staterooms for 2-3 people in all categories except cat. 11 & 12. There are no staterooms available for 4 people in any categories.

Although I would really like to see how the SPR is, everyone who stays in them say they love them. So it really doesn't matter to me either way.

I think I'm a little confused. If I understand you I doubt they will give you 2 cbins for the price of 1. Anyone wanting to cruise that date with a party of 4 would have to choose to get the 2 rooms at full fair or cruise a different time. Disney isn't going to trade 2 for 1 like that. There may be some people staying in a cabin that would get an upgrade if they don't have 4 to free up a room, but there are a lot of sailings that are full and this may end up being 1.

I fell sorry for you that you can't get the cabin that you want. DCL woul probably move a family of 3( currently booked in a 4 sleper) into one of the veranda rooms you are talking about before they would move a family with 2 adults and 2 kids.
Then they would still have 2 cabins to sell instead of one. Did that make sense?

I remember reading here ,One ray of hope for you:sunny: keep checking esp by the 60 day point. Someone may change plans for whatever reason and something could open up for you.

No I am happy with the room I chose, but DH said to see how much DCL wanted to upgrade, and when I checked I saw they had no verandah rooms available and having time on my hands like I do, LOL I came up with this crazy thought LOL

Yep calling board members and discussing how to get the failed school budget to pass doesn't take up ALL my time LOL
