Getting a new roof

We had a hail storm in August and didn't think much of it until we saw a lot of signs popping up in the neighborhood and a lot of new roofs going up. We called a contractor and our insurance agent and sure enough, we need a new roof. They are going to try to get it on next week, weather permitting. We have put roofs on two other houses and it is quite a mess but this roof is almost 12 years old so the timing for us is good . At least we didn't have the damage that some had with grapefruit sized hail that totaled out some car dealerships entire stock!

Yup, hail storms can be awesome! A few years ago we had one and needed the works. New siding, gutters, shutters and roof. Just had to pay the deductable. We did have quite a bit of damage, it looked like someone stood in front of our house and threw rocks! There were holes that were perfect circles in the shutters and the gutters were all banged up.

Of course, then we had to replace the windows and clad everything in alum. on our dime, but at least the house is now maintainence free!

I was kind of hoping to get the siding replaced but no go. I would prefer another color siding but it isn't horrible so it's ok. Maybe next time .
