Good evening! Just checking to see if anything has changed since 2007. My ds has Asperger's and a seizure disorder and when we went before he used the GAC, which was literally a life-saver for use due to all the sensory issues and a very short attention span.

I still have the old GAC dated in 2007 and previously, I would just present the old GAC in exchange for a new one. Do I need to bring new documentation of a disability or will they accept the old GAC?
Thanks!

You do not need documentation. You can bring the old GAC. The most important thing is to be able to explain what the needs are.

::yes::
exactly.
The CM will most likely ask you whether the needs have changed and you need to be able to explain what the needs are.
If you have not read it before, there is information about GACs (Guest Assistance Cards) in post 6 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. The FAQs thread is located near the top of this board or you can follow the link in my signature to get there.

Thanks so much for info! My ds needs the quiet queues to prevent meltdowns so hopefully it won't be problem getting a new one.

You may also want to look into touring plans like Tour Guide Mike.
Many people with family members with autism have posted that a good touring plan is even more helpful to them than a GAC. The GAC will only help with attractions, but a touring plan will help to avoid crowds and waits in places that a GAC can’t - like avoiding crowds when just moving around and waits/busyness in places like restaurants and bathrooms. People have posted that when they used a touring plan, they seldom waited more than 10-15 minutes for anything, even during busy times.

Fast pass it a great addtion for our kids also, especially where alternate waiting areas are difficult.
