Yes, Mickey Magic has come through and husband agrees driving to and fro is too dangerous, time consuming, and just not a good idea. I need a hotel for about 40 a night or less would be good, but not too scary. If I go to the hotel first thing Monday am, still have to drive from the one hotel in Daytona to Orlando, planning on leaving as early as possible, and just get the car to the hotel, check in at least, and can leave the stuff in the trunk, take the shuttle to the park...I'm hoping that will work with the hotel..we won't need the room yet, just after the park closes. So back to my request, anyone recommend a decent one? I'm looking at the Comfort Inn and Ramada and Best Western. Do most hotels offer FREE shuttle? Are there some that make you pay? Oh I can't tell you how relieved I am!!

Best Western Lakeside and Lake buena vista - both have a free shuttle.

Best Western Lake Buena Vista is on Disney property and has pretty good bus transportation.

Best western Lakeside - prints their schedule

but you will be better off with your car.

remember those forest fires are still going on. I would call the hotel at Daytona and see how affective your place will be.

Thanks. Checking out the BW and the website. Where are the forest fires at? The hotel in Daytona is the hilton oceanfront village...

May be smoky, but I don't expect the hotels on beachside (like the Hilton) to be in any real danger. The current fire is farther north and inland. That said, based on past fires, if you have asthma or some kind of sensitivity to smoke, I imagine things are not very pleasant right now.

BTW, good call on not driving from Daytona each day. With rush hour traffic on I-4, it would easily take over an hour to get to WDW. You used to be able to do that when I was a kid, but the incredible growth all over makes it less of an option.
