Many with both II and RCI. I have 3 villas coming up in a few months and just threw 3 back for April this past weekend. There are certain variables however that will determine you chances of success. Resort requested, unit size, lead time, when you place your search, time of year and your RCI membership type and parameters. I would place an ongoing search as soon as RCI will allow it, basically 2 yrs out. IF you're a weeks owner, you'll need a TPU of around 40 or more to have a good chance of success. For points you'll need roughly 55K pts for SSR for a 1 BR and 93K for a 2 BR and for BLT it's 65K & 106K, higher demand times are more points. If one is RCI points, there's more to it than an ongoing search, post back if this is your situation. IF you want success, I'd list all resorts and all times, I personally would not list a studio as I think the odds of matching are actually higher with a 1 BR anyway and it's a better value, the studio is likely not worth the costs. 2 BR villas are tougher but do show up, We had 2 last year. However, two 1BR villas are often a better and easier to find option. My mother and I are looking at taking a trip to WDW the fall of 2017. I have noticed that sometimes there are DVCs available on RCI. Has anyone booked a DVC through RCI?

RCI is really 2 exchange company's in one, RCI weeks and RCI points. From your post I assume they own RCI weeks, if so, the TPU (Trading Power Units) is a very important component. If you don't have sufficient TPU trading power (generally 40 or above), you have no chance. SSR, OKW and AKV are fairly common but BWV, BCV, BLT & VWL do show up as well. SSR does seem to be the one most available and it's beyond just it's size. You'll have to decide how greedy to be compared to the chance of not matching. Personally I'd list all that you're OK with and for a 1 BR. Just realize the 1 BR is a King and pullout queen. If you don't know your TPU or can't find it, just post the week (or parameters if floating) and resort and we can check. While you do have time, you do want to start your search as early as possible to put yourself first in line.We would be trading Bluegree through RCI. On the rare occasion I have seen DVCs the points is not an issue. There will only be 4 of us so we would only need a 1 bedroom. We are looking at going in the fall of 2017 so I have some time. I have only seen Saratoga Springs pop up, do any of the other resorts ever pop up? Also, by getting a DVC though RCI can we still get the dining plan, EMH, and free parking?

It sounds like they might have Bluegreen or Worldmark. I am well aware of how the BG RCI interface works, not as much for WM but there are WM owners her on DIS. If you put in an ongoing search then your chances of success are very high in this situation if you list all of the DVC resorts for a 1 BR. Worst case scenario is you bail 30-60 days out and chose something else though WBC likely won't be available that close, other options will be. If it's BG they could deposit their 1 free week per year and while it likely won't have enough TPU for the exchange, they could potentially combine 2 weeks into one for an additional fee. From what I have seen the point conversion is a lot different. We will have 35,000
I believe we have the ability to do both weeks and points depending on the location. From what I have seen the point conversion is a lot different. We will have 35,000 points to work with and the time I saw a 1 bedroom on SSR it was only 11,000 points. We will be taking a girls trip, My mom, my two DDs, and myself, so the sleeping arrangements will not be an issue. We plan on starting a search this fall since we can only book 2 years out. I just did a search and all I found was SSR for June.
Not getting a DVC will not be the end of the world but I would really like to get one. My family of 5 plus my MIL just got back from WDW and we stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It was amazing and it was super easy to drive to each of the parks. If we cant get a DVC we would probably just stay at WBC again.
We would be trading Bluegree through RCI.
Thanks, don't know how I missed that. For BG it really depends on whether they have qualified or non qualified points. If they're Premier Gold, they have access to both points and weeks inventory, if they have resale non qualified points, they work mostly through the weeks side. The 1 free week is only for Gold members, not for non qualified (resale) points. Otherwise see my post above.Dean: OP said they were trading in via Bluegreen.
The Fountians is a very nice resort and it's often available for Bonus time. Any time you're going with them, that may be your best option since an owner must be on the trip to use BT. A gold owner gets one free blue or white week per year which can be deposited to RCI. Anyone could email me privately if they are interested in this issue as it's a little complicated to spell out completely here. They are Premier Gold. I just used some of their points when I stayed at WBC last week. We don't know anything about a free week though. How does that work?
