Getting a drink for Wishes from Poly beach...

On our first night, we'd like to watch Wishes from the Poly beach (my friends won't have park tickets for the first day ) and I'd like to get either a Lapu Lapu or a Pina Colava to enjoy during the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant. What time does the pool bar close at the Poly? Wishes is at 8:00 that night and we will be arriving shortly beforehand - I think I read somewhere that the pool bar closes at 7? Would we be able to get something from the Tambu Lounge and bring it down to the beach with us? I'm just really looking forward to having my first Poly drink that night , so any advice is greatly appreciated!

If the pool bar is not open, you can probably carry out a drink from Tambu Lounge as long as it is not in a glass container. Many of the lounges will put a drink in a plastic cup if you intend to take it with you.

I think the pool bar closes at dusk. Like PP said, get a drink in the Tambu lounge and bring it to the beach.

We usually get one from the Tambu Lounge and walk down to the beach.....in the glass and no one has said anything to us, the majority of the other people watching the fireworks has them too....

Sure hope you aren't the unlucky soul to step on a piece of broken glass in the sand. Please be considerate and bring your drink in a plastic cup, just because you aren't caught doesn't make it right.

A lot of the pool bars seem to close at dusk so your best bet might be grabbing a drink from the lounge. When we stayed at the Poly, we spent many a night drinking at the lounge and our bartender was always happy to give us one last drink in a "to go" plastic cup at closing time. Just mention that you won't be sitting at the bar and nicely ask for your beverage to be served in a plastic cup and you'll be good to go.

Bar was open for MVMCP Wishes at 9:30 last week. Kinda pricey tho. Of course, that is relative to my grand plan of stopping by the Poly store on our way to the beach from the monorail and getting one of those $7 bottles of wine I'd seen at every other resort store but noooooo, Poly didn't have them.
