i will be getting a cat in a couple of weeks. either one or a brother and sister. they are all shorthairs. i have never had a cat before and was wondering if anyone had any advice. thanks:)

I don't have a cat but I do have a dog. My advice is when you go to pick what one you want, make sure you pick the one that comes to you. You want to pick one that is friendly and outgoing so it won't be as awkward for them when they come to live in their new home with their new owners.

heres my advice...DON'T GET ONE

I have two cats and i've had them for like 7 years.....they are irritating. my cats regurgitate their food and stink up the litterbox that i have to clean EVERYDAY. and if i am in my room and my cat wants in...she will meow until i get up and open the door. and in the middle of the night she will headbut the bathroom door to get in and play with loose ponytail holders and plastic bags.

they can be sweet at times....they do like to snuggle....but they can be very big pains. i would never get rid of my cats, because they are much better off at my house than at the pound....but after i leave and get my own house.....NO CATS!

well i went to pick them out last night and i'm bringing them home on saturday. i'll post pictures soon
