Getting a cab from Ft. Wilderness?

We're planning on having friends over to our campsite one evening. Hubby will pick them up but we were wondering if it would be possible to get a cab back to Port Orleans later. We're planning on having a few drinks while we visit and it would be nice if DH could join in :)

Who do we call? Where would a cab pick them up?

(I know they can use the Disney buses but it will probably be quite late and they'll have two small children with them. They're visiting WDW from Denmark so there's a bit of a language barrier. I'm trying to make this as easy as we can.)

Thanks!

Jennifer

Go to the front desk and call a cab from there. They pick-up right in front of the Check-In building. A CM will help you. In some rare instances, a Disney van driver might just drive your friends back to PO for free. :yay:

Thanks so much! Will the folks at the front know who we should call? My only cab experience is in NYC where they're just cruising the streets.

Just ask the front desk most of the time the Duty Manager will drive them there. PO is not that far so just ask. jsmla- did you get your screenroom fixed?

I always keep this number in my phone just in case: 407-699-9999 Mears Taxi

Thanks everyone! Sounds like they'll be able to get home one way or another.

And thanks for the Mear's number kent! I've copied it and added it to the file.

I hope so. I couldn't really find out exactly how to do it. I ended up edge stitching the hole and then just sewing the edges together. It's not the prettiest sewing job I've ever done (some pretty bad puckers) but it's all I could come up with. I'm still open to any better suggestions, we haven't taken it down yet.

Yea or they can provide you with the number. Two years ago when I messed up my knee and spent a couple of days in the Celebration Hospital, DW contacted the front desk and she arranged for one of the private taxis that does business with FW and even had some sort of pass that allowed him to actual pick up and drop off at the site. However, this was an unusual situation and this was just a Town Car that had no markings on it so you wouldn't know it was a taxi by looking at it. I don't think I have ever seen a normally marked taxi at least in the campsite areas, not sure if some can go to the cabins or not. He was also quite reasonable and WDW reimbursed her for like two round trips a day to the hospital which was credited to our bill on check out and was somewhere in the $100 to $200 range.

We have used a taxi before. Just ask at the front desk and they will call one for you. No problem, they will pick you up right there.

I don't know what time your friends would be through partying, but after the later Hoop-Dee-Doo shows they provide bus transportation back to the other Disney resorts. You could check that out.

Although this may not be safe, I have heard buzz light year will be offering free shuttle service with his jet pack. 2 infinity and beyond
