Getting a bit nervous!

So, due to daycare costs in NJ, we cannot buy a vacation club IMMEDIATELY. We are hoping that within the year or so, we'll be able to buy. (Give or take some months, but we are hoping within at least 2 years). Anyway, I'm getting nervous thinking that we're not going to be able to buy a BLT DVC at that time because they will be sold out. Can anyone reassure me about this? Anything that can make me feel better about this? Thanks! I'm really hoping by the summer time next year we will be able to do it, but we just won't know until we are there. Thanks!

Even if Disney is sold out by then, there's always the resale market. I've already seen some BLT starting to pop up on the list and I'm sure there will be more to follow. Also, I'm not 100% positive but I think I read once that Disney has some sort of waitlist for people who want to buy at sold-out resorts. Someone else here can probably speak to that better than I can, since we've bought all of ours through resale.

There is always resale but the biggest factor is what will the cost be and nobody can tell you that.

If you are nervious about resale . . .

We have purchased points directly from Disney to sold out resorts. You have to pay current point costs and there are no incentives, but you do get the no closing cost deal. As long as there is a market, Disney gathers points up in the ROFR routine. They buy low and sell high. (good advice)

If you are nervious about resale . . .

Why be nervous? As long as you buy from a reputable company...I dont see any problems. I've purchased 3 resales and saved lot of $$$$. I can't guarantee this will be the case with BLT (saving lots),but I'll bet it won't be a problem buying down the road. There are resales available for every DVC...even VGC and BLT.

I don't think you'll have a problem finding points to buy, even if the resort is sold out.

What I'd be more nervous about is that Disney is already rumored to be raising the price on BLT points so soon after starting sales... and in a slow economy to boot. Prices are reportedly going from $112 to $120 on Oct 4th.

It's so hard to know whether the prices and incentives will get better or worse for waiting. We purchased our first contract too late (prices when up shortly before we started thinking about a DVC purchase), and our second contract too early (signed a resale contract 2 days before the new incentives were announced).

Please don't interpret this as pressure to purchase now. Waiting until your personal finances are in the correct place for a purchase is always the right thing to do.
