Getting a bit concerned...

For those who have traveled most recently, what are the security lines like at MCO-Orlando? We are flying in next Friday to sail on Saturday so we have plenty of time for arrival. I'm starting to wonder about our departure the following week. We have a 1:30 pm flight out of Orlando on a Saturday. I'm starting to wonder if this will work with other travelers leaving around the same time since our ship will be disembarking. What are you seeing??

You should be fine. DH and I flew out of there with a 12:45 flight back in Feb and we did just fine with plenty of time to sit and wait

You will be fine. A 1:30 pm flight gives you plenty of time to disembark, get to the airport and get on your flight. We in and out of MCO 5 to 6 times per year (including over Christmas) and have never waited more than 30 - 45 minutes to get through security.

Thanks! We fly one to two times a year and never had experienced the nightmare of long lines, but with the news lately it starts to wear on you.

Lines have been surprisingly long recently. I flew out a couple of weeks ago mid-morning on a Wednesday and the line took around 40 minutes.

Despite that, I don't foresee you having an issue with a 1:30 flight.

Just flew home today from our cruise (sadness). We also had a 1:30 flight, and security was no big deal at all. 20 minutes maybe?

We have a 1:30 pm flight out of Orlando on a Saturday.

I just went on a cruise over spring break and my flight was also 1:30. We got through security in about 30 minutes so, you should be fine.

Orlando International Airport has an app that gives you current wait times for security. I dropped a friend off for a flight out the other day, and security was 30 minutes at one terminal, 20 minutes at the other.

We flew down on a Saturday two weeks ago and arrived in Orlando about 4:30 PM. The lines for security for those on departing flights were quite long. My DD returned home the following Sunday on a 6:00 PM flight and waited no more than 20 minutes. I returned this past Tuesday on a 12;15 flight and waited about 20 minutes in TSA Pre-Check. The regular security lines seemed to be of equal length. As long as you get to the airport 2 hours before your flight, you will be fine.

We just flew back from there May 16th. The lines were horrible for us. We had a 4:25 flight on Delta. We were able to access the security line via Sky Priority for Delta which wasn't much help but did put us up further in the line. We left the Hyatt inside the airport at 2:10 PM because my daughter needed to check on a lost item near our gate before boarding the plane. We got through the security line to where you put your bags on to be scanned and this is where everything went wrong after waiting in line for almost 40-45 minutes or longer. They pulled my daughter's bag to be checked by hand after going through the scanner and then she was pulled aside to be patted down. They also swabbed her hands, I have been told, this is to detect any explosive residue on your hands. After this was done we waited about 15 minutes before they checked her bags. Told us it was the water that was in the side pocket of her backpack because we forgot about it, the pocket is one of those mesh ones that is made to hold a bottle. This is something that they could have just pulled out but instead they made us wait while they searched her bag and then took the bag back to the scanner and sent it through again. I went through the body detector right after she did and I put my feed on the yellow feet marks which makes my feet pretty far apart considering I'm 5 foot 2. The man told me I would need to spread my feet further apart, I did that and he repeated for me to spread my feet further apart from the first time he asked me, I did that, and he told me a third time that I would need to spread my feet further apart which I did. I told him I had them on the yellow marks and he told me he knew but I needed to spread my feet further apart again. When he finally let me out of the body scanner, mind you this is the one that goes around you and not just the one you step through, he finally let me out and then I was patted down as well. Once I got through that, I went over to my daughter who was, at the time, still waiting to have her bag checked. The woman finished checking my daughter's bag and then walked off to do something else leaving my bag and the gentleman behind bag waiting to be checked. After about 10 minutes I stopped someone and asked if I could have my bag checked by someone. I was told the person doing it got called away for a body search and it wasn't her job to do my bag. We waited another 10 minutes or so before the lady who told me it wasn't her job to check my bag finally decided to check my bag. She asked if I had change in my bag and I told her yes it was in my change purse. I went through security at home with more change in the bag then I had coming back. She said it was my change, removed the change purse and swabbed the inside of the change purse. She then handed me my bag and said she was done. Only went for the change purse nothing else. I know you have to remove change from your pockets but this was in my carryon bag which was one of the DCL beach bags. Now that I have this long story, the end result was that we made it to our gate at about 3:30-3:45 for a 4:25 flight. If our flight attendants had not been late the plane would have been boarding when we reached the terminal. Worst experience in an airport ever! The TSA agent walking around was also yelling saying that we should have nothing in our hands including our boarding pass and ID's and that they should be in our carryons. He also yelled at us saying our shoes do not go in a tote. First time I had heard either of those. I usually stick my ticket and my ID in the tote with my shoes and let it go through the scanner.

We took our time with the late seating breakfast on the ship and still arrived at at MCO at 10am. Plenty of time.

I can honestly say the lines were terrible one month ago. In all the years I've been flying to and from Orlando, I've never seen them this bad. We, thankfully, made our flight but with no time to spare. Do yourself a favor & give yourself PLENTY of time.

Its been 10 years, since our last cruise, what time does debarking normally start. We are taking the Magic Express back to the airport also.

We will be traveling with my daughters small nebulizer for asthma attacks. We know to pull it out of the bag and have it in a bin by itself but it normally poses an issue. Thank you for responding. This gives me an idea on what to be prepared for. I guess we'll take it as it comes. Glad you made your flight and sorry for all your trouble.

We were at MCO 2 weeks ago. The lines were the worst I have ever seen. I think you'll be fine but I would not waste any time. It took us 2 hours to get through security and we got to our gate with only 20 minutes to spare! (We got to the airport 3 hours early!)

The lines were horrible on the Saturday night in late April when we flew back from wdw. I think we waited a full hour. Luckily we had adequate time since we took magical express. Also luckily my son slept through it in his stroller....if he had been awake we probably would have been kicked out. My husband is convinced we need to get the tsa pre check before we fly again.

We returned from the Fantasy in late April. The security lines were extremely long. I heard something about cheerleading camps at WDW. Luckily we were TSA-preapproved. But I can imagine that it would have been several hours in the lines if we had not been.

If I am not mistaken does not TSA security at Orlando have one of the worst reputations of any airport in the Country???

Line was horrendous in April on a Monday afternoon. With a 1:30 flight, barring any problems/delays of docking, custom clearance, you should be fine.
