since over half of our party in not big eaters... for our sit down dinning restaurants would it be odd to take home leftovers to eat later on in the hotel???
We have taken home a few things that were pretty resilient--mostly desserts. We find that the fridges at DIsney resorts tend to either be too warm for safe food storage or cold enough to freeze items fairly rapidly plus with travel time it's not a sure thing how the item will hold up. They have no problem giving it to you though. Perhaps sharing might be a better strategy for some meals.
also consider if you're actually going back to your resort right away...if you're planning on spending 4-5 more hours in the park for EMH after dinner. Those flimsy foam to-go boxes aren't exactly leak-proof, lol. Picture your left-over lasagne riding Rock N Roller coaster with you
We did that as well. Like the PP said, the boxes aren't very sturdy (and with FL's weather), we only took dinner left overs back and in most cases we went back to the hotel right after eating.
Try NOT to picture what the other guests who rode RnR with you and your lasagne will do to you when you get off
It is a very important consideration and one that I am sure is all to easily overlooked. You are also now going to be carrying things around with you if you aren't going straight back to your resort. It sounds like it 's not a problem but in reality, carrying a bag with non airtight leftover containers is a bit of a hassle IMO. Of course some things are not a problem. Just bear in mind what it is that you are wanting to take at the time and what your plans are from that point, to when you get back to your room.

As for whether they will be willing to box up your leftovers, that will not be a problem.
If you are not big eaters, can you consider sharing meals? Reheated food is not very tasty and if you are going to be in the parks for any amount of time, that can post a health haxard.
