More packages will be added and I understand other states will be doing something similar. 100% of the profits go to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief.

Getaways for Gulf Aid is a new on-line auction through eBay to raise money immediately for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. VISIT FLORIDA is the official tourism agency for the state of Florida. They have collected donations of various Florida tourism industry products, creating vacation packages, with the auction proceeds going directly to the Red Cross.

This is OFFICIAL and totally legitamate. I know people who work for VISIT FLORIDA. If you go to www.visitflorida.org you will see in the news release on the front page under Getaways for Gulf Aid the request they sent out. I can assure you that this is not a scam. These are people in the tourism industry who are trying to help.
You can also verify that VISIT FLORIDA is the official tourism agency for the state of Florida by visiting the state site www.myflorida.com.
