Having been through a lot of research, we have thought about using Getaway Today for a mini-vacation in December. We priced out the Fall Getaway through Disney Travel and other than a couple of minor things, we were quoted a package for the DL Hotel with 4 day hoppers and our child free with her ticket. We also received a nights stay free for a total of I want to say about $869.00 including tax. Now the pkg. we were quoted using the Fall Getaway was around $1269.00 including transfers to and from LAX. Here is our questions, 1st of all has anyone ever used Getaway Today and what were your experiences? Obviously the price is great. Please tell us about experiences using this company, be it good or bad. Thanks, Chip&Janet.

They sound great!! I've been comparing prices on their site and they seem to be the best value. Now I just have to wait until Oct when they come out with their 2002 rates! Patience is not a virtue that I possess!

We just booked our vacation thru Getaway and received all our information.. They were the best price that we could find around for our 4nights in October for the Disneyland Hotel. And I checked everywhere. I get great feedback on another site about others using them and having no problems at all... So if it is a good price I say go for it

We just took a trip to DLR that we booked through Getaway. There are a few things worth mentioning but overall it was an excellent deal.

I asked when I booked regarding how long the passes would be good for. We ordered 1 day passes for Universal and 3 days for DLR which gave us an extra free day at DLR. We only had 4 days so we hoped to use the leftover DLR day on a future trip. Getaway said the tix would be good until sometime in December. I think they said Dec 13th.

We received vouchers in the mail for Universal and DLR as well as for the room. No issues at all getting the room. At Universal, the voucher said to exchange at a ticket window. We noticed that the group sales window mentioned vouchers so we stood there for a bit. A guy that was in line said that we didn't need to stand there, just go through the gate (he wasn't a Universal employee as far as we could tell, just a man standing in line). We tried it and sure enough we were able to give our voucher at the gate and walk in. We didn't get any ticket or anything back so I'm not sure how re-entry would have worked had we needed to do that.

At DLR, we got to the ticket area around 10 am (we were exhausted from Universal the day before). The voucher for DLR also said to exchange at a ticket booth. The lines were horrendous. It looked like it would take 2 hours to get through them. We showed our voucher at the guest services kiosk and they said we had to get in line. On the way to get in line, a CM said that the lines on the Downtown Disney side were shorter. (there are ticket booths on the Timon tram side and the Mickey & Friends tram side...which is where Downtown Disney is). We walked across the ticket plaza to the Downtown Disney side and the lines were somewhat shorter. I was carrying the voucher in my hand. Another CM noticed the voucher and directed me to the much shorter line at the group sales window. This took about 10 minutes to get through.

When we received our 4-day park hoppers, the CM said that they expire 13 days after the tickets are first used. They are referred to as promotional tickets and therefore they expire rather than the regular hoppers which don't expire. The tickets also have this expiration notice printed on them. It seems that the Dec 13th date referred to the date by which we had to start using the tickets. But you are not, as we first thought, able to use 3 days now and 1 day in November or December. Not a big deal for us that we won't be able to use the last day since the cost of the Getaway package was so much cheaper than booking directly with Disney anyway.

I think they thought you were talking about when the promotion end for the buy 3 days get the 4th day free when you asked when the tickets expire. They had told me the tickets are only good for so many days (can't remember #) after your first days use. But like you said the deals at Getaway are so great anyways :)
