I've rented an umbrella for our upcoming trip, and saw in another thread that those renting cabanas were allowed in the park before RD to get checked in and find their assigned space. Does anyone know if those renting umbrellas are allowed to do that as well? And if anyone who's rented an umbrella previously has advice or suggestion, please speak up!!!

TIA!!!!!

I can't answer whether you're allowed in early for the GG rental as one reason (and a major reason) we rented was so we could show up a bit later and not have to worry about finding umbrella space with chairs - lol! We did it about 3 years ago and I thought it worked out really well - we enjoyed the space - it was next to one of the eateries and steps from the lazy river. I'd do it that way again for sure.

Hmmm...we've rented the cabana before and were never allowed in earlier than other guests or past the rope once you are in before other guests. We haven't done it in a couple years though, so maybe something's changed? Honestly though I doubt Disney allows guests to enter early to get to their cabana/umbrellas.

I rented a GG umbrella in 2014 and we were not allowed in earlier than park opening. When I get a chance to go back to TL (we haven't gone to the water parks the last 2 times I've been) I would rent an umbrella again. It was perfect for 4 of us and nice to have our own space. We were in the section right above the wave pool which was centrally located to everything we wanted - I highly suggest it! (http://allears.net/tp/maps/water-parks-map.pdf - where all the B & U's are above the pool).

Thanks for the answers! They were very helpful and much appreciated. Can't wait for this!!! :D

Is the maximum of 4 people enforced? We will have 3 adults and 2 kids.

Going off of Touring Plans 2015 review it does emphasize 4 people maximum for the umbrellas. It wouldn't hurt to call Customer Service and see what they say. I also suggest to reserve before you go. They do fill up quickly.

I can't figure out from my visa statement if this is for sure the correct charge, but I think it was $63.90 including tax.

Thank you!

I believe they give wristbands to everyone in the reserved umbrella area. One Umbrella, would only receive 4 wristbands.

That is correct. My party did get 4 wristbands and there was a CM at the "chain gate" for each seating area checking them.

Towels and beach bags are safe, on any chair in the park. (My beach bag only contains sunscreen).

We take our phones in waterproof cases in the water and keep all valuables in our room safe. Lunch and drinks are on the Magic bands.

I believe the cabanas have a safe.

Thinking about doing this. How many chairs are included? One site said something about 2 loungers and 2 low beach chairs? Our group is two adults, 2 children.

Yes you get 2 loungers and 2 chairs. We had 5 in our group so I reserved 2 umbrellas but when we went there wasn't anyone checking wristbands. The 5 of us were never all together except when we arrived and departed so we never used even 5 of our 8 chairs at once. I noticed a mom and son came in and took an umbrella and lounger (not all were rented out) and they didn't have wristbands and no one was there to stop them or to check the bands. I'm sure if they space had been fully rented that a CM would have been called over to move them.

I'm curious where you read that about cabanas/early entry? We've rented a cabana twice at BB (most recently a few weeks ago) and if that is the case, we've never been told about it. Both times we've RD'd the park and didn't see this happening, although I guess possible and we just didn't notice. Doesn't seem to jive with our experience though.

We tried a Cabana at TL for the 1st time last year and was able to check into our cabana prior to opening. Our attendant got us all set up and told us to wait in our cabana until the park opened. It was great!

We are renting a cabana again this summer, so hopefully this will happen again.
