Get your TSA precheck, freebies ending...

Aren't GOES and Pre-Check annual programs and so those are annual fees? How do they work for families?

Global Entry is not like pre-check in that if the adults in travelling party all have TSA precheck, kids can go with them in the pre-check lane. Global Entry kiosks are only for Global Entry members, so if you're travelling with your kids, you need to sign them up too for them to use the kiosk. Same fee, $100 per person for 5 years.

It seems like they dust that announcement off about once every year. We're flying this month, I'm curious if one or both of us gets TSA Pre again. We nearly always do, even though we never signed up.

I will admit, we got it free a few times, then never for the next 6 months or more. We missed it, which is why we bought it. So their giving it to us for free worked to sell 3 of them.

After flying home yesterday, I really wish they would stop giving it out free! I get in that line, TSA directs non-precheck people into that line...then those people start taking stuff off, emptying bags. Then, the TSA people yell at them to stop taking stuff off and out! That really confuses people, so they stand there, doing nothing. Then, they start putting shoes and coats back on, stuffing stuff back into their bags. Takes forever...meanwhile those of us who have paid for precheck stand there, not so patiently waiting!!! Drives me nuts. Not to mention that for some reason, at Ft Lauderdale Intl, precheck didn't come up when I got my boarding pass through 'Silver' airlines!!!
