Get your mind off pins - help me with 4/3 math!

Can you please help me understand how the 4/3 and 5/2 promotions work? Yes, I realize it's not being offered, but I'm curious and thought it might give us something to think about besides pins!!!

When I went Jan. 2009 on the 4/3 promotion I paid for 4 nights and 4 day tickets and I recieved the next three nights and three days of tickets for free. Dining would have have been full price for each day so we didn't do that. However adding the non expiration option to our tickets we only paid the 4 day price instead of the 7 day.

Today is Saturday. I dont like to think too much on Saturdays, so Im not going to do exact / complete math on this one

BUT...

After 3rd or 4th day of tickets, the ticket prices are about $3 a day, so really the 3 free days of tickets are worth about $9 per person....

As for hotel, you would save about 43% (buy 4, get 3).

Ok, I played around with the disney site for 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 2@ the poly staying 12/1/10-12/8/10 (7 nights, leaving 12/8)w/hoppers & waterpark:
4/3 free:
full price 7 nites $3932-full price 5 nites $2671 = $1261 saved. 3932/1261=32%
free dinning:
dinning 7 nites $4604 full price w/dinning -$3932 full price w/out dinning=$672 saved. 4604/672 =14%

3 adults @ poly staying 7 nights 12/1-12/8 checkout w/hoppers& waterpark:
4/3 free:
full price 7 nites $4164- full price 5 nites $2819= $1345. 4164/1345=32%
free dinning:
dinning 7 nites $5046-$4164 full price w/out dinning=$882. 5046/882=17%

When I ran the numbers when 4/3 came out for 4 adults 2 rooms @ the poly the savings were 43%, as I recall. You really have to run the numbers @ wdw site @ your resort choices w/ your party to see which is best for you.
