Get well wishes to Princess Jes!

Feel better Jess..............pixiedust: Sending some Disney magic your way! :D

I don't know what kind of sorcery you all have up there but this afternoon and evening, I'm feeling a whole lot better than I have in 36 hours. Hopefully the pain killers continue to do their thing and I'm on the mend!!!

If you keep talking like that you're going to put guys like Steve right out of business!

Haha, well I'm also on paracetamol and ibuprofen so those mixed with positive thoughts perhaps.
The doc is the one responsible for the strong *** penicillin that's killing the germs.
Dr Steve was helpful with a couple of questions I asked him regarding my high temperature etc. that stuff you simply can't get from good old fashioned pixie dust!

Hey, feeling much better thanks guys.
Was able to celebrate my birthday pain free (but minimal adult beverages due to the high strength antibiotics)
And it was my niece's birthday yesterday (Sunday)
And now I'm sitting in a hospital room with my husband's family because we got anther call for a lung transplant for my father in law. (Got the call at 4:30am, it's now 7:45am)
Waiting for the green light now.
Should know more in 15 minutes

Glad to know you're feeling better, and fingers crossed for your FIL!!

Thanks Heidi.
This is the second time we've had the call in less than 2 weeks.
The first time the surgery got cancelled 20 minutes before he was scheduled to be operated on.
So we are anxiously waiting for him to be wheeled in

Thank you!
This isn't the first transplant in this family.
My husband's nan had a kidney 20 years ago (she lived for almost 20 years after it, and the kidney isn't what took her)
His uncle has had a kidney too
His mum has had a kidney

We're old hats at this transplant business.

My husband will need a kidney at some point.

Oh.. And our dog was ill 2 weeks ago too and found out.... She has kidney issues.

I got a kidney back in 2003, my mom donated to me. Yeah, seems you guys have quite a bit of experience with these things lol.

Organ donation is a wonderful thing - I am a donor on my Driver's License, carry a separate card stating same, and close friends also know.

I couldn't like that post enough! I'm very passionate about organ donation, as I've talked to my whole family and close friends about becoming organ donors. Have done some talks with organizations as well.

No hijack away!

Good work on your kidney! And so amazing that your mum donated to you!

We are all donors and even my FIL in the hospital bed before his own surgery ensured that we all knew his wishes that he be a donor should the surgery not go as planned.

In Australia, it's opt in, not opt out.
I wish it was the other way around

Glad you're feeling better. And best of luck to your father-in-law. I have a few friends and a few patients who are organ donor recipients. Technically, my wife is a recipient too as she had her anterior cruciate ligament replaced in 1999 with a donor ligament.
