. . . including what time of the year to travel and more on this week's episode of the Dreams Unlimited Travel podcast! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Thank you, Jackie! I'll be watching this week -should help with my trip coming up in July....

I want to get out to Disneyland so bad. Maybe after I graduate and get a decent job. :(

One thing that I don't remember being mentioned on the podcast was which airport to fly in to? Is there a preferred airport that travelers prefer to fly in to? Or maybe somebody could share there preference? Thanks in advance.

SNA (aka John Wayne Airport, which I think is in Santa Ana) is the closest airport. I'm not sure, but I think it's about 15-20 minutes from DL - it's pretty close. I've never flown into SNA, but hopefully others can share their experiences.
Personally, I fly into LAX, because I can't get a direct flight from me to SNA (and I prefer to fly direct). LAX is about an hour from DL (more with traffic, which there usually is in LA). We've never really had problems flying into and out of LAX, but you do have to allow more time to get to and from the airport.
There is a "Disneyland Resort Express" that you can take from either airport, but unlike Magical Express in Florida, it's not free (I haven't been to DL in a while, so I don't remember the cost).

Correct -you'd fly into SNA. It's a smaller airport and very nice, but it is difficult getting a direct flight. I'm guessing but it is probably a $20-30 Uber ride to DL from SNA and it's about 20 minutes. I'm going to say LAX is at least an hour away -never flown into LAX.

Thank you for the info. How do you get yourself to the Disneyland area? Bus? Taxi? Uber? And how was the traffic leaving LAX? I agree with you; I would rather fly direct, but I was looking at SNA just to be closer to the DL area and skip some of the aggravation you get at a larger airport.

Thanks for the info. Getting a direct flight to and from SNA to Ft. Lauderdale is not possible, but I don't mind a short layover. I plan on traveling in January and most of the layover cities are in cold weather areas which might be prone to delays and or cancellations. I am back to the thought that LAX might be my best option.

In the past we've paid for the Disneyland Express. It doesn't run so often, but it worked for us. It can drop you off at the Disney-owned hotels or the good neighbor hotels (at least as of a few years ago ... it may have changed since then). It's definitely a little bit of a hassle, and the traffic can be bad.
I know some people prefer SuperShuttle (and I'm actually considering trying that for my next trip). A cab would probably be very expensive.

Thank you. I was contemplating an Uber and was wondering how much of a hassle it would be to take an Uber from LAX. I would be flying in on a Sunday and flying out on a Saturday, so maybe the traffic wouldn't be as bad. Wishful thinking!!

Ha!! Do NOT plan on traffic being light in LA ....my wife and I have driven into/through LA maybe a half dozen times. We've gone weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, and nights. If someone out there has a hint ...PLEASE let us know! We have never gotten through without issues -what's amazing is we're talking 6 lanes of traffic.
