Am I the only one who thinks this child needs a haircut really, really bad? This is Kate Hudson's son, Ryder.

While I agree :) it seems in keeping with her husband (or soon to be ex) lifestyle as a rocker

I don't like it but I do think his little Van's are cute. My DD has a pair of those!

Looks just like his Dad's. :confused3

Maybe that's why she getting a divorce. :teeth:
I know, I know...Just joking

I have 2 long-haired boys, so I was ready to jump in here and be defensive, HOWEVER.....I don't care for that at all. My DS, 10 has the same type of hair, but he keeps it layered up (see Jon Bon Jovi, below and add an inch or 2) and it looks cool.

That's weird. Not your boys' haircut, but that the schools allow them to wear it like that. Over here they are very strict about keeping it a certain length. Even when my parents were in school in the seventies they made my dad cut his hair in the principles office one time! I mean wasn't that they style back then?
I always thought the hair length rule was a little odd. Like, why does it matter? The schools' reason is because it is "distracting." Yeah OK...

I can't stand Ryders hair either! On some people long hair looks good but it just looks strange on him. He looks like a girl. I understand that Dad has long hair but on him it fits.

Wow...that's REALLY not the rule here! That's interesting. And I never thought we were an especially liberal school district either.

It's the style again. My kiddos have longer hair than most, but all the boys are kind of letting it go nowdays, around here. It really doesn't matter to me - my only stipulation was that they take care of it, and they do.

She follows the rules of the kabbalah (sp?) and apparently you are not supposed to cut your children's hair until they are 3. I think he will be 3 in December-- should be interesting to see if they cut it & how short. He does seem to favor his dad alot!

I think long hair in general is a bad idea on little boys, because they're just not "masculine" enough (their faces don't look particularly boyish) at that age to not look like girls.

I think Ryder's hair is ridiculous.

Well, I for one think he makes a very pretty little girl! Just like mom and grandma.

You know I was thinking that the style was coming back too. I saw that show "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" the other day and their hair is pretty long. It doesn't look bad or distracting on them either. I'm sure a lot of boys that age would want that hair. :thumbsup2

I wonder what the reason behind that rule is? Does anyone know?

It doesn't bother me. It would look cute a little more trimmed up though.

I don't care for it either, regardless of who is father is and what he does for a living. :confused3
