M. Eisner - in regards to your post about some Americans getting so self-absorbed & selfish that their wants override all others' safety and having little excuses about needing this & that. I would definitely need to have a carry-on bag, however it would not be large. My son needs to have all his diabetic supplies with him and I would NEVER put them into checked luggage. If his syringes and insulin were lost, he could die. These items are definitely needed in fact they keep him alive. Whenever traveling, they are with me in a carryon. I would never pack these in regular luggage. In this regard I am definitely being selfish but not self-absorbed. You shouldn't make comments without knowing the whole story behind carryons. ?
