Hello all, our vacation is Dec 4th thru Dec 10th. I don't really like the fight times leaving from PHL on Dec 4th. They all seem to be arriving at MCO late in the afternoon. I want to get started on our vacation as early as possile. Would you consider maybe getting a flight into MCO later Dec 3rd & staying over night in Orlando, then early morning Dec 4th heading over to BCV?? Has anyone ever done this , if so were did you stay, How did you get to WDW the next morning? Can I still get magical express? Any suggestions would be appreciated!! TIA

Karen;)

Friends & I did this once. Flights in the morning were really high, we got a cheap flight after work the night before. We already had a great rate on a rental car that picked up in the morning and would lose it if we changed it to the night before. So we found a cheap hotel near the airport with a free shuttle, I think it was a Sheraton Four Points. We took the shuttle back to the airport in the morning and picked up our rental car. With Magical Express, find a flight # that lands that morning about the time you want to catch it and you will be fine. You will have to handle your own luggage.

We do this often. But we just stay at the Disney resort we will bestaying in. It usually ends up being the same amount of money to take the less expensive flight but to pay for an extra night. Then, we can just get up and be ready to go.

Also, if on the dining plan, we feel like we have an extra sit down and will sometimes use this at a two credit restaurant.

We really like doing it this way

Also, Does anyone know if Magical Express only goes to the WDW Resorts?

We started doing this about 2 years ago. It makes a world of difference for our family - we fly late in the afternoon or evening, get there, get situated & go to bed. That way we're refreshed & ready to get up early & go to the parks that 1st day! For us, traveling all day then trying to get in parks, dinner, etc. was just too much. Everyone was cranky & just plain DONE by 7pm.

Yes you can do what you mentioned - like the OP stated just give ME a flight # and time for something that next morning - and handle your own luggage. Might I suggest just getting a room onsite that 1st night rather than by the airport - that way you can use ME right away? I see you're staying at BCV - so probably no availability (or too much $$ to add another night) - why not try a value resort that 1st night - you'll get ME there and they will transfer your luggage the next day to BCV while you head out to the parks. It might cost a few dollars more than staying at an airport hotel, but it will save you the hassle of getting the shuttle to the airport hotel that night, then shuttling back to MCO in the am with luggage to pick up ME. And that way you're onsite right from the start!

You have a few choices. You could book a value resort at WDW for that first night. Then you could use DME to get there. The next morning, get a cab to BC.
Or... book that night at an airport hotel. There are a lot that are cheapish and have a shuttle to and from the airport. Then, you can return to the airport in the morning and take DME to BC. You will have to take your luggage with you though.

If it were me, I would just try to book Pop Century for that night and then take a cab over to BC in the morning. The cost would be about $10 including tip...at least that's what it was for us when going to Pop from BC.

I think this sounds more logical. Thanks!!! I think we will do it this way !!:yay:
