One of our SOG day is a day that has am EMH at AK. What's the best way to get there ASAP in the morning. THNX

Shades of green? Best way to get to AK is by car. Barring that, I would walk to poly and ride their bus. We use the poly's transport when staying at Shades quite a bit. The bellhop guys at Shades are also happy to drive you down to the entrance of Shades in the morning as well.

There may be a direct bus from shades to AK, but I don't remember one.

THNX Do you know how far a walk it is to Poly?

Well ..... Depends on how tired your feet are ;)

It's not bad. About ten minutes, I think. If that. I would recommend taking advantage of the bellhopds golf cart rides in the morning, saves about two minutes.

The poly trail to the Main lobby is very clearly marked and is a legit walkway. Can't miss it.

Btw, if this is your first sog stay, request the older side of the building near the pool. And the buffet (garden grill?) has cute themed nights ( carnival night, Italian night, seafood, etc) and their other sit down place has a great salmon and the desserts there are really good! Morning breakfast buffet isn't fancy, but it's fulling and inexpensive. Not to mention free popcorn at the sports bar location! The pools have been redone and are nice. And the resort has free yoga classes!

THNX and we're all walkers. How is the bar? Prices? THNX

Since it's for military, my family has found everything VERY reasonable. I think buffet is no more than $20, $10 for breakfast, or so and kids eat free! Theme nights are great (carnival has make your own Carmel apples, cotton candy, popcorn and corn dogs!). I think my salmon at Magiannos (sp) was $14. And they have a Px/exchange there too. Typical military rates at the Px, and you can get cute Dis Merch at 1/2 price of Disneys prices. Alcohol at Px is military priced.

The rooms have been redone, and since they are old disney (buildt the same time as poly and contemp) they are really big. It's a very serviceable and nice resort. There are lots of animals there too- we've seen deer, hawks, turkeys and peacocks. It is a bit confusing to find your room though, it's like a rabbit warren! We really like it. Good deal for the military!

that's them both boys. We may not have time to eat there due to our crazy schedule. teens rope drop to closing. We may go back on one of our "off' days while we're at the condo.

If I remember correctly, SOG should offer bus service that will get you to AK in time for the EMH. I think the bus drop off / pick up is in their parking lot. As others have suggested, the quick 10 minute or so walk from SOG to the Polynesian works great for hopping on the monorail or buses.

Yes the SOG bus schedule is visible on their website. They say they leave approx 30 mins prior to park opening and make adjustments for EMH days (leaving 30 mins prior to when there are EMH also). http://www.shadesofgreen.org/mobi/bus.html I never had difficulty using the SOG bus service to get to AK. As long as you are ready to go and out at the buses approx 40 mins prior to the start of the EMH you should be fine.
