Get Away Today park hoppers not eligible for AP upgrade!

Along with the recent park ticket increases Disney announced that only park hoppers sold through the Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC) will be eligible to be upgraded to Annual Passes. Quote from the website: "Effective immediately, discounted park hoppers sold through third party resellers such as "Get Away Today" and "Ares Travel Company" are no longer eligible for upgrade to Annual Passes" Here is a link to the new policy: http://64.128.14.168/policy.html

Does that mean the special Disney $99 passes sold at the grocery stores can't be upgraded--the ones for So Cal people good for 3 days? I hope that's not true because I was planning on getting one and upgrading.
